Wonderful spot even better hosts.
It felt like my own camp ground, nice and secluded. They gave me fresh cut wood and a starter block to make it easy. It was a short walk from the car down to the site.
In the morning they gave me fresh brewed coffee and an amazing breakfast. My time was cut short due to an impending storm otherwise I would have hung out longer.
A private area with nice amenities and tons of adventure to be had! This site is in a great location for the outdoor enthusiast. Kayaking, boating, fishing, disc golf, you name it!
The campsite was already prepared with a fire pit and fresh cut wood to burn, a grill and extra tent padding if needed, and straps in the trees to hand your bathing suit (or maybe even the fish you caught).
My tent was backed up a wildlife reserve so I was able to see a few critters and creatures here and there. A few deer were definitely curious to watch as I set up camp and started cooking a little meal to get me through the night.
It is everything and more, if you want to connect with nature and have the best host you could ever imagine. Fishing was very good my Son was the one that caught the big one.
We did our own cooking over the open wood fire they supplied a grill cover for the fire. Please if you truly like fishing and every thing that God can provide you you will find Vinai's your new escape.
Nice, well maintained, campsite a short drive from Lake MacBride. The host was friendly and helpful, but gave us plenty of space after we were settled. We had assistance moving our gear down a hill to the campsite via tractor. The campsite felt private and had: a mulched pad for a tent, ample seating around the fire pit, plenty of chopped wood, a table, chairs, charcoal grill, and a grate for cooking over the fire.
We had a great time visiting this campsite! Our dog enjoyed the room to run free, and so did our kids. Jenny and Vinny were great hosts, and checked in with us to make she we had everything we needed. They also set up hammocks for us, gave us fresh picked corn, and some other items for our kids and a ball for our dog to play with. When there was a storm approaching Jenny texted me a heads-up which was very helpful, and offered us shelter if needed.
We hiked in the nearby area, and tried a restaurant in the closest town. We really enjoyed our time. Even though we were on their property, we still felt like we had our privacy. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful place, wonderful people!
This is beautiful little spot! Our hosts were extremely hospitable. They were always available to help us out and take us kayaking, which they provided. The lake is only a hop skip and a jump from the lake and getting on the water couldn’t have been easier thanks to them and the location. They have a nice campsite available away from the house with a fire pit stocked with wood. They had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend!
Jenny is one of the kindest hosts there is! They helped bring our stuff down to the campsite with a tractor and even had the whole campsite set up with a hammock, bug spray, and firewood. Kind hosts and great spot near lake MacBride!
This was a nice place to stay! The hosts were very welcoming and responsive. They gave us recommendations for places to hike, bike and fish in the area. There is lots to do in the area and
It’s a beautiful part of iowa. The camp site is shady, has room for 2-3 tents and a nice fire pit. The hosts were generous to provide some wood, bug spray, and tiki torches to help keep bugs away. There were quite a few bugs and the area can get muddy if it rains, so bring your mud boots. The hill down to the campsite is very steep. They do help you haul supplies up and down the hill with a tractor. We were able to use a bathroom at the top of the hill. I’d recommend bringing jugs of water for drinking. They are also dog friendly which is a great plus!
Amazing private retreat
We had an absolute blast spending this whole weekend @ Vinai's Fishing Getaway. Quite, private, BEAUTIFUL scenery. We relaxed around the large stone fire pit & 3 deer wandered over to say hello to us! The property was clean with access to indoor bathroom. Our dog was able to be off leash the entire weekend having the entire property to ourselves. Plenty of firewood was provided as well as 2 kayaks for our use. The hosts were very polite helping us get settled and packed up but wsre courteous enough to leave us be during the duration of our stay. We are already discussing a return trip with friends!!
