Wild Things Farm

We own 10 acres of wooded and pasture land in central Indiana. Although Indiana is a fairly flat state, our land is full of hills and ravines. This creates a lot of opportunity for wildlife watching, bird watching, mushroom hunting, hiking and mountain biking. We are located east of Lafayette, Indiana, about a 4-minute drive to grocery stores, gas stations, and of course, Starbucks. For the more adventurous, we have private access to the Wildcat Creek, through a neighbor's property, for fishing, wading, kayaking and cooling off in the summer heat.

Andrew is an excellent host and really made us feel at home. The camp site is among the trees in his backyard. There is a fire pit, hammock, camp chairs, lots of hiking trails, and a slack line. I enjoyed all of the outdoor activity options. His home is about 100 yards away from the campsite. The bathroom and wifi are available in his home. This was a little unexpected, but a wonderful surprise as well. The flush toilet was appreciated the internet was fast when we were close to the house.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Wild Things Farm and plan to return again with our 2 girls (under 10) and our dog. The property was welcoming, our site was private and within view of the house; if someone wants to get more privacy there are places to tent camp among the 10 acres and many trails around the property. The host family shared fresh eggs with us and gave us tours of the trails and property. A Volcano portable fire pit and a stocked wood fire pit were both available to us, along with water from a hose and an outdoor shower if needed after long trail explorations.

My kids already want to go back! We had a great time camping at Wild Things Farm and our only complaint is that we were only available to stay one night. Andrew, the owner, is an outdoor enthusiast who wants to create a camping destination that is similar to the BLM lands that he experienced during a trip west with his family. I would say that he succeeded.
