There are three main wooded trails that run through the property that are nestled along the Kankakee River. We will be growing our own produce and hosting yoga/meditation/sustainability retreats throughout the year.

The Landing is a place to connect with nature and explore the inner self. Come visit for the weekend or for long term stays.

The place is magical. It felt like the Esalen of the midwest.

Stephen, the host, is one of the most caring, loving and peaceful human's I have met. Such a pleasure to share time and space with him. I am already looking forward to going back.

The Landing has great potential to be a venue for spiritual retreats, yogi retreats, nature retreats, and a getaway for large groups. The host was enthusiastic about his plans for this new location, but there is still plenty of work to be done before I would recommend campers book this location with the expectation that it can fully support such retreats. There is plenty of open land for tent camping, though, and the facilities are good!

The lodging quarters of the retreat center. Four large rooms and four shared bathrooms. We camped out on air mattresses in one of the four well-heated sleeping rooms. Plenty of space and nice and bright. Stephen said they'll soon be filled with bunks and hammocks for sleeping. The Landing is bordered by the Kankakee River. The river was peaceful and great for bird watching. We also saw evidence of lots of other wildlife. The wooded trails took us to the Kankakee River and back around to the grassy air strip, which we followed back to the lodge. The property was peaceful and secluded and there was plenty of room for all of us to run and explore (even our dog!).
