My stay at Sycamore Hills was absolutely wonderful! What a beautiful place to camp!! The pictures were lovely, that is why I chose this camping place, but they don't do it justice! The campsite is located in beautiful rolling hills, surrounded by cornfields and lovely pine trees! The site was so peaceful, and the stars were absolutely amazing when I camped! Fireflies were in abundance, a perfect summer night. The site offered a campfire ring, and everything I could need. I felt completely safe, as a solo camper, and it was the perfect place for camping along my cross-country road trip! The whole property was immaculate! The host was helpful and kind, very accommodating, while giving me my privacy. I would definitely come back, and highly recommend Sycamore Hills!!
This is a lovely spot and Don is a superb host. The site is just outside of town, open fields with patches of woodland. It sits a bit above the surrounding countryside so it catches the breezes on a summer night. Great stars and fireflies. Don met us as we arrived, pointed out the AC, water, and bathroom, and supplied coffee and OJ in the morning. We'll return here the next time we come through.
Private and good for an overnight stop. We were in route and it was an easy place to camp for the night and move on. Quiet and pastoral.
Wide open space with plenty of room to camp. Donald is very friendly and extremely accommodating. We hope to come back some day, thank you for a great stay!
Our stay at Sycamore Hills was excellent! Donald was a great host. He was very accommodating and made sure that we had the best time possible. His residence was very large and beautiful. We were able to pick out a great spot amongst some big trees for hammocks and tarps, with a picnic bench, and he brought and set up a fire ring for us to cook with. Some firewood was provided for free, with the option to purchase plenty more. A nice bathroom and kitchen inside a guesthouse were also available for use. We had a great time and look forward to going back.
I loved this camp! It’s a short drive from the interstate on paved rural roads. The camp is set back on groomed green fields with tall shady trees. Donald showed me the different sights and let me choose. He made sure I had everything I needed and let me know how to reach him before he left. It was the perfect combination of private camping with an accommodating host nearby.
I was traveling alone and felt very safe in this beautiful camp. I would recommend it easily to other solo females. But the sunrise, fire pit, picnic table and shade would be great for any group to enjoy as well.
Thanks Donald. I hope to camp again next time I travel west!

Welcoming spot with great amenities
We loved staying at Donald's place! It was a beautiful spot and Donald was a great host! He made his home, the Lodge, available to us, which included a super clean bathroom, a sitting room with a giant stone fireplace and a kitchen stocked with coffee, fruit and Pop Tarts!
Sycamore Hills was lovely, quiet and peaceful. Don was welcoming and helped me find a space so I wouldn't have to back up my trailer. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. I also walked into Attica to see the Old Church, which gave me some much needed exercise. It was the perfect stay for me on my westward trip.
