Summit Lake is a fabulous place to camp and kayak. I kayaked there all summer and two of my close friends camped there several times. It's quiet and not crowded. Early mornings and evenings are the best times to kayak because the sunrises and sunsets are absolutely beautiful. The are lots of coves for exploring, nice trails for walking, wildlife galore to observe, and it feels safe and friendly there.

The "naked tree" and the last sunset of summer on Summit Lake. I was difficult to say goodbye to summer but a float on the lake helped. The first sunset of fall on Summit Lake.My friends and I hang out around the "naked tree" in the mornings to get the best photo ops. Sunsets on the lake are the best because one gets double the beauty.
