WE ACCOMMODATE HUNTERS & COLD WEATHER CAMPERS!

Please read the whole description-

This property used to host a little cabin in the woods but sadly it burned down. What remains is about a quarter mile drive back in the woods where there is an open clearing.  Campers can set up tents, hammocks, or even small RVs/trucks.

There are two main areas in which to set up camp. First, upon entering the driveway, there is a meadow to the left with a fire pit, picnic table, and tiki torches that is flat grass surrounded by forest (site 1). The second one is at the end of the driveway where the cabin used to stand and it too is mostly flat grass but gradually declines into the valley (site 2). This section also has a fire pit and is surrounded by trees. At the end of the driveway, there is room to park vehicles/small RVs, but beware the turnaround is tough.

To those with an RV/Camper- please contact me in advance, our maximum length of the whole rig is ~35ft. I also must insist that generators not be used as they are loud and disrupt the peaceful nature of the campsites and may hinder the experience of those at the other site. If you absolutely need power, I can run an extension cord but this is as a last resort. Finally, please do not pull your vehicle beyond where it is outlined to be- for example if there is a tree cut down to section off the grass vs. driveway, please do not move it. :)

The property is a stones throw from Yellowwood State Forest which has many hikes, and connects to the Tecumseh Trail.  Yellowwood Lake is less than 5 miles away.  You can even walk. Lake Lemon is a five minute drive. If you are looking for a peaceful spot that's close to Nashville or Bloomington .... come stay with us !!

*When viewing the pictures, please read the captions as they tell which site is which. I wouldn't want your expectations not to be met, if you prefer a specific spot for a specific reason just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your needs!

*If you are interested in organizing a hunting trip, this is a perfect location as there is plenty of hunting to be done in Yellowwood! If you want to hunt our acreage, contact me in advance and we can discuss the possibility, I am still debating it. Regardless, hunting season is coming and you are welcome here!

*For those who absolutely require water access, you may fill tanks (5 gal/day stayed) at our house next door.

I don’t want to say anything nice because we want to keep this lil gem to ourselves! We will definitely be returning! Absolutely everything about this site met and beat our expectations! We brought our weed eater (just in case) but everything was perfect! This is definitely a perfect little spot for a short getaway! Our stay was VERY wet so we were not able to partake in all of our surroundings but we will be back to do so!

Lots of room for canopies! We used three tents and two canopies. Plenty of room for 10 people! An Earth Buffalo is on property! Beware! Lots of cute photo opportunities!Lots of room to social distance! LolEnough room to spread out!

This was a perfect in-between Morgan-Monroe State Forest and Brown County SP.

It's a little off the beaten path but that makes it unique. The listing for the location is a tad confusing as there are actually two sites available at this place. We were assigned the first spot which is very close to the host house and driveway, so it wasn't as secluded as we thought. The rear site had already been reserved and we didn't know this prior.

The general upkeep of the site wasn't the best: most notably, the fire pit was a bit rough around the edges and there were tons of weeds around the site, many of which were poison ivy and oak.

There was great kindling available at the site scattered around, and also chopped firewood but it was very damp and wet. A small bench was provided.

The biggest issue with this place is the lack of bathrooms. Not an issue for #1, but we decided to head out early to avoid #2.

We stopped by the rear site as we were leaving. This was much more unique and away from the house and road. It was more "decked out" in many ways. I would go to this site if I were to come back and message to make sure that was available first.

This had nothing to do with the host (as their dog was very friendly and said hey to us a few times), but there was a nearby neighbor's dog that barked nearly all hours of the night. Again, not the host's fault, but something to note.

A good little spot but try to get the back spot if you can!

LARGE camp area with plenty of space to spread out. The site was easily accessible and near Yellowwood State Forest amenities (hiking, kayaking, gravel biking). Most of the area had a slope so we had to be strategic with tent placement but the grade wasn’t drastic enough to impact our enjoyment of the “lounging and kitchen” zones. The site had a large picnic table and established fire pit. No water access (which we knew ahead of time). I look forward to returning once the leaves change in autumn!

We really enjoyed camping at site #2 at Hoosier’s in the Ridge — ample space and privacy plus close to town. Quiet and safe feeling, plus dog friendly. While we could social distance from people and didn’t meet Riley in person, we had a few visits from Riley’s Golden Retriever pupper who decided to run some laps laps with our doggo on one visit :) Great spot and we would definitely return!

Upon arrival I was amazed with the beauty of the site area and the home like touches. For example, a cute bench by the tiki torch and fire pit. Plenty of room for our three dogs we took with us and two of our children. My girls had their first chance at a tree house/fort in the woods. They got to play while still being in eye and ear distance but we still used our walkie talkies. We also had a pleasant visit from Boverance a golden retriever. He was as sweet as can be with all of us! I felt a little safer, being born and raised in the city, that a sheriff lives close as well! Safer for my children. Site one has a beautiful opening view of the sky! The stars and moon shine bright enough to give proper moonlight to see and sleep. At the same time provided ample shaded area if that’s what you prefer. Riley was very helpful with all my questions to help me help my families needs and in a timely manner. My girls and us already planning to go back next year, or sooner!!!
