We stayed with Greg to view the eclipse, and you wouldn't have known it was their first weekend hosting! We were greeted by the road (with cookies!) and directed back to the field where the campsites were set up. The sites were fairly well organized, there was plenty of firewood, and the pit toilet was clean, well stocked, and well lit. The field was recently cleared, so it was a little lumpy to sleep, but that shouldn't be a problem for campers for too long. It sounds like they have some great plans for the camp moving forward, so I'll be sure to check back in.

Very nice eclipse camping get-away trip. The property was nice and they had new pit toilets with lighting. They also had wood available to buy and fire pit areas at each site. Also we were greeted by the owners with home made cookies.

We came here to see the eclipse and it was perfect! The hosts were so welcoming and thoughtful - they passed out a note with their contact info and a bag of homemade cookies upon arrival. Everything was exactly as described and I appreciated how thoughtful they were with the info they shared in emails. We got to experience the eclipse in a perfect setting with a group of really great people.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The property owner, Greg, is a wonderful host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. I drove in late from Chicago (arriving after midnight!), and Greg and his family stayed up to greet me upon arrival. He hoped into his ATV and guided us by the cone of his headlights through the dark down a dirt road path to the campground. The plot of land where you camp is surrounded by a beautiful field of soy beans. Although you're surrounded by trees, the campground sits under open skies. This makes for a prime spot for star gazing and sunrise viewing. Each site has it's own fire pit, but there's a nice spot in the center for a community campfire. The outhouse was well equipped with TP, wipes, and scented spray within a well constructed frame. In the morning we drove to the town of Anna, Illinois right down the road for coffee at a cute local shop. I'd imagine if you forgot supplies, you'd be able to drive a few minutes to get things here. The whole experience was great, even as I was a part of the first group to ever camp at Sandstone Creek!

Even for their first time hosting a camp site this was a wonderful location. Very gracious hosts and a spectacular service.
