SITE REOPENS MAY 1, 2018. Our quaint private property is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Chicago and is situated within 10 minutes from town and Metra (easily walkable too and takes 45 minutes or so). We are within 10 minutes or less from the area's plentiful forest preserves which offer hiking, biking, and other activities year round. Ideal alternative to a public campsite.
The eight acre property is in a residential area. The camping area is nestled amid a large wooded area and has a freight train line overhead which runs approximately every 45 minutes. It offers plenty of privacy and beautiful open views. The camp space is simple and secluded along a stocked, two acre plus pond available for fishing and paddling.

The vibe at Near Chicago Private Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our stay at Private Property Camp Chicago was a peaceful one. The property is beautiful and the camp area is private. There's no need to pitch a tent, our hosts had one already set up that was spacious and clean. Thank you for having us :)
Definitely would not recommend. Very far out of the way. Bad communication. The campsite is about 100 yards behind their garage. The shower was a cold bag shower. The bathroom was a pail. Did not want to stay there, but could not get my money back due to their strict cancellation policy.
This camp site was pure luxury with most amenities taken care of. There is a lovely tent with a queen mattress, as well as a barn and table with everything necessary to make a meal. There is also a fire pit in a secluded nook surrounded by woods where wood is aplenty. The beautiful sunset over the small lake makes for stunning views.
