Tent Camping at Carlyle Lake

This is a modest and very basic campsite near Carlyle Lake. There is a lovely brick fireplace surrounded by brick and stone for you to place your camp chairs and enjoy a fire. Firewood is available for purchase for $5 a bundle (cash only please).

The Boulder boat launch is only a few minutes from the site. This community is surrounded by boat houses and a summer boating family with many RVs nearby.

The historic Clark Cemetery neighbors the property. Please be respectful if you choose to view this historic site.

Carlyle Lake surrounds the RV and lake home community and is the largest lake in the state of Illinois.

This shallow lake is known for sailboating (due to the amount of wind), boating, paddle sports, swimming and fishing.

There are numerous beach parks surrounding the lake with parking.

There are playgrounds and sandy areas as well as many places to put your boat in the water, fish, swim, and hike trails.

There are also plenty of places to eat and get supplies. Within roughly 20 minutes there are two Walmarts, plenty of local shops, restaurants and gas stations.
