It's not a huge place, but the goats, sheep, cattle, and a very bossy donkey will keep you company as you bake in the sun, or read under a tree by the creek. Hwy access but far enough from that, and in most cases the house, to afford privacy.

I have several locations for campers based upon multiple factors like weather, occupancy of my rental loft, phase of hay growth, whether you have kids, want sun or shade, or animals in your space. Due to COVID I am limiting the number of people  - there is only one bathroom.

A note for people with children. This is a working farm, not a KOA or petting zoo. There are large animals here and water at a depth for drowning. While my livestock is all relatively tame, there is always a risk of injury - to your kids and my animals.  I provide instruction with each new arrival, but you and your children need to follow it. If you're going to bring your children, you need to supervise them at all times, or I will limit campers to adults only.

Reasonable driving distance to Le-Aqua-Na, Apple River Canyon, Cadiz Springs, Pecatonica Forest Preserve, and Head Gates Park. About an hour from the Mississippi to the southwest, & Galena to the west.

Pagan & LGBTQ friendly.

Please note that one booking is one tent. I have it set for 4 people per site; if your party is larger than that, send me a message. Book for all of the people in your party. They're going to be in my bathroom even if they're small. Contact me for clarification, any inquiries, or questions.

Such a phenomenal experience! Naimhe was friendly and truly has an amazing place that is a joy to visit. There were 4 of us, and we all got to cuddle goats, a dog, and a donkey (and saw much else)! She was flexible and kind when i messed up the booking (silly me) and even though it had rained a lot, she pointed us out to a great spot that was perfect to camp on. Cannot recommend goat land enough and we are all already planning our next visit!

So many animals on the premise and they're all friendly was really great. Nice bathroom with shower provided. Firewood too. Great host, really loves the animals. Lots of bugs so be prepared.

We had the most wonderful time on your farm, Naimhe. The animals did so much to uplift our spirits, and you were the most gracious hostess. We had everything we needed and we were able to make ourselves right at home. The kids are wanting to visit again to connect with the animals again.

We had an absolutely magical time for my sons birthday eve. We camped in the same paddock as cows, sheep and a very friendly donkey. Each animal visited the tent to check it out, and we had free access to the goat paddock who were just as friendly as Grace the donkey. My only suggestion is to bring a cart with hefty wheels because its a good walk to the car but there were easier spots to pick. We were even able to have our bonfire with the animals around.

We had a wonderful time at Naimhe's farm. She offered us the freedom to explore and visit with the animals as we pleased. It is a beautiful property with great views of the hilly landscape and open fields. I would come back here for sure.

Staying at Goatland was wonderful. Jeanne was a great host. She gave us a full tour and then we were welcome to wander the property, chill with the animals, and enjoy cooling off in a nice little crick bottom. My daughter LOVED all the animals. The goats, sheep, cows, and chickens were a lot of fun. The cemetery adjacent to the property was really interesting as well. We will for sure be back. It was a great way for us city girls to get out out of town and enjoy camping safely during the pandemic.

Jeanne was a wonderful host to my 6 year old son and I. She has a ton of friendly animals and the property has everything you need (shade, creek, firewood, privacy...Jeanne was very helpful but gave us our space and only saw her when we needed her.
I’d come back again and would recommend to families who want to try camping (but have the benefits of a toilet/sink/electricity as needed...)

Jeanne is a great host. The site was amazing as advertised. Private campsite was provided. Restrooms and shower were very close. Firewood was provided with no extra cost. Our daughter enjoyed playing with and feeding the goats, donkey and other farm animals!
