With private river access you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking and of course tubing. There are multiple drop off and pick up areas for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Multiple forest preserves 5 minutes away for additional fishing, cycling, and mountainbiking options. The Kishwaukee Gorge preserve, Kishwaukee river preserve, Rockford rotary county preserve, blackhawk springs preserve, deer run preserve, Espenschied memorial preserve, and Atwood park are all very close. Our area has a fire pit, pre cut firewood, picnic table, plenty of room for cornhole, horseshoes, bocce ball and maybe even lawn darts. There are several restaurants, a grocery store, and many other amenities approximately 4 miles away.

The camp is situated along the Kishwaukee River on a sizeable piece of land that is adjacent to a state wildlife preserve. Camp host Nathan will rent you his SUV to make the short, but rugged drive from his home at the top of the property. You'll need it if you've got a little car like we do. Once at the site you'll have a place to setup your tent along the river, a few chairs, a fire pit and easy access for paddling or fishing. Nathan does provide all the dry firewood you'll ever need. It made for a perfect fire after a typically-rainy Midwestern spring night.

Amazing place to unplug! We made the trip from Chicago and I was amazed at how secluded you feel while on this property. Nathan was great, and super responsive to all of our questions. I can't wait to go back and spend some more time here!
