The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of greater Chicago owns the land in which the Fulton County Camping & Recreation Area resides. The campground is leased by Fulton County and is managed and maintained by the campground superintendent and a seasonal employee. The campground is self-sustained by user fees such as: entry fee, seasonal camping fees, overnight camping fees, propane exchange, bait and tackle sales, and firewood sales. All revenue is budgeted to maintain the Campground and facilities on a yearly basis. We are open to the public all year round for fishing and camping. The Fulton County Camping & Recreation Area is made up of 440 acres which includes approximately 150 acres of water. All lakes in the area are strip-mined lakes with the exception of Little Sister Lake which is a natural creek-fed impoundment. The major lakes are managed by IDNR and are restocked yearly with channel catfish and large-mouth bass. The lakes in the campground contain large-mouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, redear, and crappie. Lakes 3 & 4 contain muskie. Red Barn lake contains yellow perch. All fishing limit signs are located at each boat ramp. The information pavilion is located just inside the campground entrance which will provide you with maps and further helpful information.

RV hideaway

John was very welcoming and I had the pick of sites since it wasn’t crowded. Very secluded/ quiet, and port a potties were very clean with pump water stands. I would stop again definitely! Susan

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground. It is clean and very well taken care of. The porta potties were the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The electric site we had was quiet and spacious with a nice picnic table and fire pit. Would be a great place to take a kayak. John was available, kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant experience

Spacious campsite. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Had bluejays and cardinals frequently visit our site, pretty cool! Respectful campers. Check in/ Check out process super easy. Porta-potties were super clean which was very surprising and nice because we weren't super close the shower house/ indoor bathrooms. Firewood available on site. John was super friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back!
