250 acres of lakeside beauty
We had the most incredible time staying at Camp Manitowa Cedar Point. It was everything we hoped and more. Dan was quick to respond to my questions and Madi, the on-site host, was super friendly. Our original plan was to stay in a yurt but it was frigidly cold and rainy and we were thankful Madi had prepared the Sahara lodge as a back up with heat and hot water that we could wimp out in. It had a real “ghost of Girl Scouts camp past” vibe which we completely embraced and loved. The 250 acre grounds were breathtaking. We hiked to “The Rocks,” enjoyed the use of the beach, canoed to our hearts content on Little Grassy Lake, and took a starlit stroll our last night there. Not that you need to leave, but there are plenty of parks and lakes within 30 minutes to explore as well. If you want a unique camping experience put this place on your list.
Fun and beautiful
My granddaughters and I had a great time, felt very safe and got a break from Covid for a while. We loved the old Girl Scout feel to the camp. It was so quiet and peaceful with not many people there, it was super easy to social distance anywhere in the camp - but we could imagine it would be dynamic and energizing with a normal amount of campers having fun all over the beautiful grounds. The Yurt was lots of fun and had lots of room for us. We even had a battery inside that ran a lamp and allowed us to plug in phones, tablets, etc if we wanted to. I have already recommended Camp Manitowa-Cedar Point several times and will continue to do so. Dan G was quick to answer and very helpful. I understand he also has a camp a bit farther north which would be fun to check out.
My boyfriend and I serendipitously found this hidden gem and couldn’t say enough about it. Dan was super responsive and was in contact with us to work out details of the reservation. The grounds are gorgeous, the lake is a dream and the yurts are so much fun to stay in. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back. Thank you!
Yurt + bunk beds = perfect night!
Dan came through in a clutch our first campsite had fallen through.. The yurt was perfect for our family of 4 - we all were able to have a top bunk if we wanted it! The property was lovely to wake up to as we had come in very late in the dark. The lakefront is a must, bring your morning coffee down there and just relax!
Beautiful and peaceful
Serene and absolutely gorgeous. I stayed in the yurt with my two kids and had a wonderful experience at this campsite. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The lake and beach are amazing! We enjoyed the available boats and SUP boards. We also explored the trails to the Cascades which was fun and a tolerable distance for my kids who are not into hiking.
The two yurts on site are hidden gems in the forest. There is a shower house with flushing toilets up the path (next to the camp's road) and an outhouse closer to the site. Ask about on-site water availability. Hosts gave us a charged power box (many USB ports) and a light for the yurt, which was nice to have.
I love this place and look forward to going again.
