We want your experience at our property to be unique, memorable, and special. (Summertime accomodations) If you have kids we will allow a tent next to camper and we added a small movable fire pit. My wife and I have chickens (eggs are free range/$2.50 a dozen), horses, and dogs. If you want to see horses with an education lesson, we can make it happen, just ask. If you want a campfire serenade with a dutch oven meal, or a two hour river trip on the Payette; ask, book in advance, and we will make it happen for a reasonable fee. As a host, we rent unique old RV's but will eventually have tiny houses on the hill behind us too. We have the 1965 Golden Falcon that will remind you of your grandparents except it has air conditioning. Our third camper (pet free) is available, "The 1965 Santa Fe". It is a taste of New Mexico. It is our honeymoon camper, love is spicy and in the air. The bright colors of curtains and cushions are hand made by my wife. Lastly, we have the Scavenger l, a unique Tiny House. Please just ask, and we will try and accommodate. The town of Horseshoe Bend (approx. 730 population) has three excellent restaurants, the Riverside Locking Horns (on the Payette) has live music (my wife "Jess Ann"), Ray's Corner Cafe (delicious homemade desserts), and Sonora Mexican Restaurant. Chevron is open until 10 pm with a Subway that closes at 9 pm. Volcano Farms has fresh baked pies and local produce and is located in the Chevron lot. If it is summer ask about jumping off the legendary bridge and boogie boarding on the locally loved fish ladder rapids *both one mile from our property. If it is fall/winter ask about sledding (we have a couple) or get directions to the Southfork Lodge (20 mins. past Garden Valley) in Lowman (just 10 mins. from the Kirkham Hot Springs). Hurry and book Zip Idaho in Horseshoe Bend on their summer special, $40 for two screaming 50 mph zip lines.

Ok, I’m not going to lie. I picked Dale’s site because it was priced right and I’ve been feeling pinched lately. If we end up in the area again, I’ll pick Dale’s RV park again.

Out of the entire trip, this was by far the most comfortable sleep I had. My mom and I each got our preferred mattress type (she likes firm, I took the fluffiest feather bed) and there was something just, reassuring(?) maybe about the area. I don’t know how to put it into words. The rolling hills/mountains, while huge, didn’t feel like they were looming menacingly to this flat country gal. We took a walk to stretch our legs and watch the nearby creek. My mom fed a sassy horse an apple while he preened under the attention that was his obvious due. I had a delightfully macabre conversation with children who were determined to be charming no matter what the conversation. We went to bed early and there wasn’t any intrusive noise, which actually would have been okay because neither of us care, but I did notice how still the whole area was by 8:30.

Lula and Margaret, it was a pleasure. I am so glad you slept well, come back and visit anytime. You qualify for $10 off on your second stay so your mom will have more cash to buy some Idaho property:)

If you’re after quirky, Instagram-able digs and a charming, open vibe this is your place! My mom and I spent one night along a road trip and we’re delighted by the beautiful breakfast table set up in the bunkhouse and all the other charming touches - the beds were clean and soft!
