We had such a great time staying in the cabin! We were the second people ever to stay in the cabin, so they are still improving it, but we thought it was perfect! Great size for two people, bed was really comfortable, the deck was a perfect spot to sit and relax, and the table downstairs was great to eat at and play card games. They have a outdoor shower and outdoor compost toilet behind the cabin, and an outdoor bbq area with a fire pit. It was the perfect spot to relax and unplug and be out in nature. The cabin is also only 30 mins from Sandpoint which is a huge bonus! We will stay here again soon!
Lori's property is absolutely wonderful and easy to get to. I stayed in the cabin that she is in the process of fully building out (no running water, but it still feels luxurious with faux fur blankets, candles, a teapot/camping stove, and a composting toilet out back). I told her I'd be getting in around 1am, so she set up a fire to make sure it was all warmed up for me! I slept beautifully and woke up to the smell of cedar. Lori and her dog, Luna, are lovely and gave me a full tour of the bigger cabin they're renovating, and encouraged me to explore around the property. Can't wait to see what else she builds :)
I would 100% recommend the Phoenix Rising cabin if you're coming to explore Idaho/eastern Washington!
Nestled in the beautiful northern Idaho forests sits a small & cozy rustic cabin. I came with my family (us + two kiddos) and found it to be cozy and very rustic. My daughter had no problem using the compost toilet as it was much better than an outhouse and the wood stove kept us all nice and cozy during our stay. Lori, the owner does have wifi available, but it is a perfect place to recharge and actually "get-away". She is a wonderful host and was very accommodating too. She is continuously working on reviving different parts of the cabin and I can't wait to see the progress next time we go back! We had a wonderful time!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and it was so romantic! Lori was very accommodating (we booked it last minute) and everything was as we expected. The essentials were provided to cook dinner on the grill, clean dishes and even shower. We brought our dog with us and she didn’t want to leave! We would definitely come back to this cabin in the future :)
I spent a lovely weekend in the Birds Nest cabin.
Cozy and warm.
Lori was a fabulous host.
This time of year with snow and cold weather it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the peace. Hearing the wind blowing, hearing animal sounds.
Quiet and refreshing
Lori was a great host. Very hospitable, friendly, yet respected our space. Adorable cabin in an awesome location! If you have small children make sure you bring a baby gate - the stairs and drop off at the top of the A frame are pretty intense. The only negative would be seating in the main room - a lower table with sturdy chairs or small couch would be awesome for rainy or cold days.
The cabin was lovely! We loved being off-grid, having dinner by the light of the oil lamp, heating the space with the wood stove, and enjoying the sound of rain on the tin roof. It's in a gorgeous part of Idaho and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding terrain. The cabin is right by the main road to the property, so we did see trucks coming in and out a few times, but everyone was friendly and we still felt pretty secluded.
