Camp on the white sandy beach of the tranquil beautiful Pack River. You can park right next to the river. The Pack is a pure and tranquil river. ( I offer three kayaks for campers to use for free and I also have a pop up beach screened tent I let campers use. The river isn’t very deep right now but if you need bring your own life jackets.). The mosquitoes are mostly gone the odd one here and there. This is a safe and peaceful place for single woman and children. The river is perfect for young children as it is calm and there is plenty of shallow beaches for children to play in. The water is clean enough to drink as the locals do but I do have fresh drinking water on site. This camping site is on the Pack river in northern Idaho about 9 minutes from Sandpoint with beautiful white sandy beaches to camp on and great kayaking to lake Pend L'Orielle. Peacefully watch bald eagles fly along the river hunting for fish. Have a bath in the horse trough heated by a fire under the sparkling stars. Calm easy pleasant river to float or kayak or just relax and swim in the river all afternoon. The Blue Heron restaurant walkable up the river with a beautiful view of the Washington mountains. A train does pass by every five hours or so. This camp site is ten minutes away from propane Pack River general stores and cafe. With $3 showers. I offer free fire wood. There are fantastic horse throughs which you can fill with river water and heat with the free fire wood available. They are relaxing healing mineral baths as this water is high in special minerals. so far campers who have stayed have told me they want to keep this place a secret. :)

Madeline was a great host and her property is beautiful! We set up camp right on the river and our 3 dogs ran around off leash until they dropped. Would definitely recommend giving this camping spot a shot. The mosquitos were a little rough, but nothing out of the ordinary for summer camping!

Driving in - it’s good to have a suv type of vehicle just because it’s a dirt road and parts of it is pretty bumpy. I think there are two sites, one is more of a blazing through weeds & trees spot, the other would have been better for (I am an almost 60 year old woman between having a couple surgeries so add out of shape in there too) me and my 25 year old daughter. Bring mosquito spray - lots! But the spot on the river is beautiful, and if the weather had been better (rained a few times) I would have loved floating the river. My giant puppy had the best vacation ever!

We will definitely be back! This was exactly what we wanted! It was a nice private stay on a soft sand bank off of the river. Madelaine met us and showed us around. She also helped me carry firewood back to our site. She was an exceptional host! My puppy loved the nature as did we!!

This place was amazing! Madeline was great to work with, gave great directions and had everything ready for us. The bathroom (porta potty) was the cleanest best smelling one i have ever seen. The campsite was beautiful and better than the pictures. You had both white soft sand and a pebble beach. It was almost like being on the beaches back east. We had complete privacy and were very comfortable.
She provided a large popup shelter that was great to store all of our extra stuff in.
Somehow she even got a heard of elk to sleep a few yards away and walk through our camp the next morning, whoohoo!
Lets not forget my favorite part.. . The trough trough hot tub!
We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Madelaine was very cool and laid back. She let us choose to camp on the beach or in a site. She was available but allowed us our privacy. The river was low at that time of year (Aug) but great temp for swimming. We brought our kayaks but put in further down river where it was deeper. We had the place to ourselves. There were 2 portapotties available. Beautiful environment. Lots of trees and deer. Train is a bit loud at night but part of the charm of the Sandpoint area. Fairly close to town if you need to run in for supplies.
