Elk Mountain Trailhead leads to the mountain and is suitable for backpacking, equestrian, or OHV trail riding use. Leave your vehicle near Windy Saddle on Forest Road 285 and head to the end of the road. From there it’s about two miles north on Trail 517. There is a toilet once you reach the mountain.
