Julie and Bob were lovely hosts! They showed me around their farm, complete with friendly pigs, a bunny and an orchard with a cherry tree full of delicious cherries (great breakfast snack). They put coffee out in the morning. The campsite in the back has a beautiful view of the valley, and the sunset was pretty marvelous from up there. I didn't make a fire, but I *think* they provided firewood to the other campers. Overall, I felt safe and welcomed, and my expectations were greatly exceeded. I would definitely go back!
One note: there were a lot of bees. I don't mind bees, but if you're allergic or afraid of them, I would chat with Julie and Bob about what can be done before you get there. They mentioned that they have tried bee bombs in the past, which helped for a couple days at a time.
The drive up to Mountaintop Paradise was very nice with a perfectly paved winding road. The neighborhood felt very safe. When we arrived we found that there were at least 4 campsites. The setting was peaceful with log farmhouse a barn and another outbuilding.... all very tidy and thoughtfully cared for. Bob came out to greet us first. He accommodated our need for trees to hang our hammocks with the choice of two perfect spots. Bob gave us a tour showing us where the outhouse was and most importantly where coffee would be brewing in the morning. Then we met Julie who was warm and personable. Nothing kept us from sleeping well except for our own learning curve for sleeping In hammocks. We would stay at the mountaintop paradise again.
Mountaintop Paradise was fantastic. Seclusion, a vegetable garden, and even a perfectly sized and maintained outhouse. Julie was a wonderful host. She greeted us when we arrived and wished us well when we left. The whole thing makes me want to build a cabin in the woods and have my own mountaintop paradise.
Just beautiful. The hosts are so lovely and welcoming and their (justified) enthusiasm for their space is infectious. The tours, help and chat were welcomed, not annoying, and the snacks were just an unexpected extra. Thank you so much!
this is a beautiful, very welcoming hipcamp property. the sweeping views are breathtaking, and the hospitality was over the top. Julie and Bob were just the warmest hosts, with a unique eye to the details. the warm coffee ready for us in the morning, along with an adorable outhouse with a sweet wash station including warm water and fresh towels. there is nothing like washing your face with warm water after a night camping. we saw deer, moose, chickens and got to hang out with the Farm's pet bunny.
an amazing experience all the way around. will certainly be back in the future.
