With 70 acres, you can bring a large group to enjoy the area together, or enjoy a quiet, secluded getaway. Fire pit, large open grassy area, and lots of trees for wind protection. Plenty of cleared tent spots right on the bank of the river.
Boat is needed to access the island of course. There is a public boat dock with plenty of overnight parking, including RV spots if desired. It is within kayaking distance from the island (less than 1/4 mile). Also, the parking/public boat dock is within a few miles of Burley, Idaho. We can arrange to ferry you and your party to and from the island for an additional fee (see Extras). There is a boat dock on the island itself with, but a nice little cove you can pull into and tie off in. NOTE: the ferry Extra will NOT be available from October 15th through March 15th. Any access will have to be arranged by you personally. Be aware, the river may freeze over at certain points through the winter, so boat access will not always be possible.
The island was abandoned and not maintained for many years. We're working hard to reclaim it. A big part of that is combating the noxious weeds that have overtaken parts of it. We're making good progress, but in the meantime, make sure you bring some good shoes with you (not just sandals). Also, the grass is native grass, so it's not the bluegrass you find in a yard, also contributing to the need for good shoes.
We can't wait for you to come enjoy the island with your friends and family! Whether you're playing horse shoes, reading a book in your hammock by the river, or playing in the river, we're sure you'll make unforgettable memories!!

Great secluded spot
It was an excellent trip. It’s definitely a work in progress but there were plenty of shade trees, a great fire pit, picnic table, and the dock made it easy to load and play. We used the shuttle option to ferry gear to the island while most of us kayaked in. That ended up being a great way to experience the river and island.
Charming fun rustic little island
Charming little island and so fun to have the whole thing to ourselves. We went with a little group of family & friends (9 adults and 4 kids). We brought kayaks and inflatable rafts and set up camp in a shady grove of trees. Lots of firewood for nightly campfires and plenty of places to hang a hammock. We spent a few hours one day just kayaking around and exploring the river and all its little fingers. Definitely harder to paddle upstream, but overall a very calm, easy stretch of river for kayaking. We had a relaxing and wonderful time! I would suggest bringing bug spray and pants/shoes as the mosquitoes come out at dusk and the island still has a lot of poky weeds and grasses.
Great time at a unique site
Devin's place was great! Such a unique experience. We brought an inflatable 6-person boat, and it handled the back and forth quite well! The dock is a little hard to reach from the "mainland" because it is on the opposite side as the area where you park and leave your car, but it just gave us more time on the water, and after the first couple times, we got the hang of it. I'd recommend leaving your car at the RV Park rather than the boat dock because it is much closer to get to and from. Devin was great at quick communication, even when I had to message him kind of late. He was really descriptive, so we were able to figure it out with hardly any trouble. I would highly recommend this place if you happen to be in the area. The sunrises/sunsets are GORGEOUS on the water!!!
With a few hiccups on my part the stay was awesome! Devin and his partner were both professional courteous and polite. The island was quite private and my family and I had a blast!
Thanks to this experience my 7YO daughter caught her first fish all by herself! We shall definitely add this to our list of places to travel to and stay!!
