Description
Make like “Caribou Jack” and trek it to the Caribou Mountain Guard Station. Nowadays we have a few more transportation options than the local legend who discovered gold in the area in 1870, so pick your poison and drive, snowmobile, ski, or hike to the guard station which is nestled into some mixed conifers at the edge of a meadow. Caribou Mountain is the tallest in the Caribou Range and the marshes of Grays Lake spread out below the summit making for a seemingly never-ending supply of exploring. With bears, wolves, moose, mountain lions, and more lurking about, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for the local wildlife.
