Description
This place might actually be the original Garden of Eden. No, but seriously this campground is gorg. Situated in an open, grassy meadow, Elks Flat is surrounded by stands of cottonwood, aspen, Douglas fir and ponderosa pine, at an elevation of 4,400 feet. There’s a couple of large, group sites and the rest are traditional single/double sites. The South Fork Boise River runs along the eastern edge of the campground, and affords plenty of opportunities for rafting, swimming and rainbow trout fishing. And if you’re not already 100% blissed out, get this: there’s nearby hot springs called Paradise.
