Lorri's place is in one of these large semi wild subdivisions that are common on this side of the Big Island. Its up near the township of Volcano so has a bit of altitude and so is a bit cooler.
Lorri is just starting out here, with her tiny house nestled into the young damp forest. It's not yet a tamed block but there is graveled drive way access into a nice place to park and camp.- we slept in the back of the car. Fall asleep to the sound of frogs!
We used her grill to do BBQ chops, and were provided with water for washing. No tap or toilet to the campsite yet but there is a portable toilet if you needed to use it. We look forward to the high tech composting toilet that is there to be installed:)
A simple and peaceful place to sleep on the flanks of Kilauea. An insight into a way of life on recently created earth. An earth still moving, forming and reforming.
