If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This place is so special because of the steam vent saunas. I can't believe that Marc and Ishika have these treasures on their land, right in the backyard, it's incredible. There is so much included with this camp spot; a common area, kitchen and dining room, bathroom, outdoor showers, washer and dryer, cabanas out back and of course the saunas. It was so much fun to walk around and explore the land with Marc, I appreciated the thoughtfulness he showed, and enjoyed hearing his vision for the land. This is a great place to book for individual camping, but also has the ability to be an incredible retreat center if you are looking to accommodate a larger group. The location is also ideal, easy to find and close to town if you want to go in for a bite to eat or want to go explore. The warm pools, Kalapana night market and national park are all nearby. Marc also had great recommendations on activities and things to check out! Thanks so much for the host Marc and Ishika!
This is such a magical spot! We are so thankful Marc and Ishika are generously sharing the specialness of this place with all of us. They are both very friendly and it was a pleasure talking with them a bit. We at first thought the price was a little steep for just a camp spot, but it was soo worth it. Absolutely the most unique and beautiful (Volcanic!!) steam sauna we have experienced, and they invite you to the gorgeous hostel kitchen, bathroom and living area. The whole property feels magic, definitely a special way to experience Pele and the lusciousness of the area.
Lovely hosts & great property. Communal kitchen/ living area was awesome as were the saunas. Only downsides was the actual campsite itself - just next to the main entrance on an uneven rocky surface. We were also not shown the bathroom facilities.
Wow, what a treasure of a place! We had a cozy campsite with an epic view, use of a beautiful kitchen and living room, and reserved ourselves two hour-long time slots in the most magical steam room sauna. The sauna was so cleansing and grounding and such a highlight of our time on the island. The outdoor shower under the stars was also super memorable. This place is awesome!
Slice of heaven
Marc and Ishika,
Thank you so much for a magical vacation in your jungle retreat. The Pele's Breath is heavenly and the Volcanic Steam Vent Sauna transports you to another world. Very private and mystical.
Pele’s Breath was a cool spot for a night. The sauna is magnificent. We stayed mid week, which I recommend. The camping is a little sparse, just a couple small sites off the road that are a little bumpy and the bathroom facilities are two porta potties a 3-5 minute walk away. Seems a bit lackluster for the steep price. I wish there was a bathroom in the main house that was public. Overall, we had a good time, but felt like we didn’t really get an orientation about what we were allowed to go/do. But as I said, the sauna and ocean view are hard to beat, and Marc was really friendly when we saw him.
