Phil made it clear he didn't like campers. He made it clear he only cared about his "top paying" guests inside the house. Was told not to go in the house. Wouldn't even let me use the microwave to make popcorn. Later, he made me take down my towel that was hanging on the porch with the other house guests. Had to charge my phone in a cluttered garage with holes dug everywhere. Not safe. Not a pleasant experience.

I've enjoyed all my campers and they have enjoyed me and my property. But you two........OH MAN......that is why they call it camping, and you were NOT renting a room in my house. You could use my inside toilet and hot outdoor shower, as well as WI FI and charging station. It's clear on my site that camping is in my beautiful yard, NOT hanging in my house with my family and friends......... you were disrespectful to sit in my living room while I was not home and the fact you asked to use my microwave I thought was a JOKE. You can use a camping stove for heating food. That is what I do when I camp, I dont take a microwave or couch when I go camping........ rent a room next time....but not at my place.

My overnight camping experience at Phil's place was, in a word, magical. The location, near Paia town, and on the road to Hana was perfect for my first night on Maui. The large, open grassy area available for camping was very quiet at night, and the stars overhead were amazing! I highly recommend this camping opportunity! Mahalo Phil, for sharing your beautiful home and grounds! Aloha!

Phil responded promptly to my request and gave perfectly clear directions up the hill to his home where he has opened up a beautiful spot for campers to stay with a very clean outdoor shower and indoor bathroom open to guests. The location was perfect for being able to travel to a safe spot last minute from the main road, and just a few minutes from Jaws general store. Phil was a gracious host who provided a packet of tips and favorite places to go around the island. I am happy to have visited and thank you for opening up your home to travelers such as myself!

Phil's property is such an amazing space! Fruit trees cover the land he has cleared and landscaped and there are gorgeous views all around. The Flora on the property is incredible, with orchids and red ginger flowers. It's so great to have a cute outdoor shower available and toilet inside the house as well. This space is also large enough for a bigger group if need be. There is plenty to do close to where the site is located, including but not limited to exploring the town of Paia, going to Ho'okipa Beach to see the sea turtles and surfers, driving down the Hana Highway and horseback riding. Phil is a helpful and responsive host and I will definitely come back and stay next time I'm on Maui!

Perfect trees for hanging a hammock! The expansive land allows for many tents, there were plenty of great spots to choose fromPrivate outdoor shower accessible from my campsiteRelaxing under the palm tree

Let me start with how friendly and informative Phil is! The property isn't all that close to the beach but it's insanely beautiful. Also there are many restaurant options nearby. Honestly I didn't want to leave.
