The vibe at Haiku Harmony
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
With Haiku Harmony only being about 15 minutes away from the airport, it is a great place to stay your first night in Maui. Haiku Harmony is centrally located about five minutes away from quant Pa'ia, brilliant surf and turtle watching spot Ho'okipa, and at the beginning of the Road to Hana. The listing is a pole house with ocean views and a wonderful lanai (balcony) that currently wraps around the entire upstairs. There is a large, shared common area equipped with a full kitchen, and sitting/dining area. There are three bedrooms and a loft that will be available for guests to rent out separately or even the entire upstairs if you have a large group. The home and remodels are still a bit of a work in progress, and Chris (the host) is eager to make this spot into an oasis for his guests. There were a few hands in the cookie jar while we were there, as Chris is still trying to sort out managing the property effectively. Something I believe to be important is to know that there are individuals that reside on the first floor of the pole house, but the entrances are separate and the upstairs/downstairs is not connected. Like most Hipcamp's, there are other homes and individuals who reside in different homes on the property as well. Another thing to note is that the listing is the first *right* as you turn on the road and there are two entrances 70 A and B - despite the directions stating it's the first left. With it's close proximity to the airport and Pa'ia, Haiku Harmony was a great start to our stay on Maui; and super convenient for our start on the Road to Hana as we woke up at 5AM from jet lag!
