A 100 year old lava rock flow is the setting for this tent cabin location in the Ka'u District of the Big Island of Hawaii.

This location offers epic sunsets, a rural perspective of Hawaii and a unique landscape of old lava flow.

A unique setting on the Big Island, this camp is a tent cabin located in the Hawaiian Ranchos, in Ocean View, Hawaii.

The cabin itself has a double burner propane camp stove, dishes, cookware & basic utensils. Dining table & chairs and prep space in the kitchen area as well. The kitchen & eating area is located inside a screened in lanai.

A king size mattress provides a soft place to sleep, two twin beds are in the second bedroom. Please provide your own bedding.

Drinking and washing water should be brought in by guests. THERE IS NO WATER AVAILABLE ON SITE! Water is easily obtained at the two grocery stores in town, or by refilling vessels at the water station located at Ace Hardware. You can also fill at the multiple spring water sites located around the island, including in Ocean View.

There are two composting toilets for your use. One is for urine only, and needs to have water and urine ratio of 1:1.  This should be emptied daily into trees and bushes on the property.

The solid waste composting toilet needs to have a handful of peat moss or wood shavings added after use. All surfaces should be covered in order to reduce odor and opportunity for insects.  Please ensure seals around toilet seat are in place, as well as keeping the toilet lid closed when not in use. Please contact the owner for instructions regarding that procedure, if You need further clarification..

Kula Kai Caverns are located in this neighborhood as well.
