Such an awesome place! Its off grid, secluded, and surround by the beautiful Hana jungle. We came prepared to sleep in our sleeping bags and brought fire wood and water for the night. To our surprise our host Alvi set us up we an igloo full of water, wood in the pit, hammock, air mattress, and sleeping pads for the cabin! Our kids loved exploring the property and had an awesome experience hanging out with the friendly peacock that lives on site! The only thing that caught us by surprise was the steep driveway down to the house. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary, we had a Jeep so we were fine. All in all it was an amazing day, definitely one we’ll never forget 🙏
Very cool jungle hut
This is a very cool spot! Totally remote and no electricity so plan accordingly. Hard floor but with sleeping bag is ok (recommend bringing mats) but amazing location and to walk around the property is just lovely and special as is the resident peacock who is awesome! Just note a 4x4 and some confidence is needed to drive down to the jungle hut- did it but it was scary at night even in my 4X4- would stay again and host was responsive through text (never met anyone).
Rustic jungle hideaway
Secluded spot in the jungle off the early part of road to Hana. Very responsive host, clear directions, cool porch scenery of the dramatic jungle backscape. Thank goodness we weren’t tent camping as it rained nearly the entire time we were there (common in this area). We were surprised - but maybe shouldn’t have been - by the large banana spiders and palmetto bugs in / near the cabin. If you are shy about bugs or possible “rough” conditions in the rain (such as trying to start a fire on a tiny charcoal stove in gusting winds and rain, having a muddy driveway to get out of with 4WD), I would not recommend camping in this area. If you’re good with rustic and off the grid of the jungle, this could be a great fit for you!
Great stay in a private jungle hut
This was our first time using Hipcamp and the experience was great. The location is very private and quite and the hut was clean. Yes a 4WD is required if you want to drive all the way to the hut. Never met Nicole but she was very responsive to my questions. No phone signal at the hut but if you walk back up the road to the top at the property entrance I was able to get a strong AT&T signal. Our 6 year old loved exploring the property and relaxing on the large deck was great.
