Fall/Winter Special! Each visit will come with a S'mores Kit for 2!

We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life & makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up. You may park & camp in your vehicle or you may pick a spot to pitch your tent. Feel free to pitch your tent at the end of the drive in front of your vehicle, there is a nice flat spot on the opposite side of the fire pit. The driveway is all gravel but the spot to pitch your tent on the other side of the fire pit is mulched and leveled.

There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them. We are working on leveling more tent sites. You are more than welcome to pick a spot in the woods to pitch your tent.

There is a large fire pit up the hill on the opposite side of the pond. You are welcome to use it. You may collect any fallen wood on the property.

We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest & here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less then 10 minutes) in Hiawassee & has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area & you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.

Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC).  Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.

On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of & about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville & Chattanooga. Any questions? Let us know!

Nothing fancy but it didn’t need to be. I felt safe as a woman traveling alone (the campaign signs helped). Would have liked written directions on the Hipcamp app but Google found it okay. Would’ve been a cute place to pitch a tent if it hadn’t been raining all night. I slept in my car.

This site was literally a gravel driveway. We BARELY squeezed one tent into it. Right off a street. The pond looks like a field in the pictures, but it’s not! Also buggy.

Sorry about the bugs!! I did take your review into consideration and update my description making sure it is clear to guests that it is a gravel drive. We also worked on increasing the tent site and leveling in out. Thank you for your feedback! Love your pictures!

Very unique site, very much "off the beaten path" -- you'd never know it was there! A jewel of a tiny pond, with a drive that is about 70' long, and just wide enough for a camper van to fit, with a small sitting area/tent site in front of the drive. The tent site is mulched, and there is a lovely wooden dock leading from the sitting area onto the pond, all of which is gently lit by solar walkway lights, giving the entire site a very magical appearance at night. In the AM, the pond was gorgeous, with some awesome frogs, and the sound of the creek very relaxing. Surprisingly few bugs, BTW - I was not bothered by mosquitoes or flies at all. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice and quiet, but not so remote that you feel like you're going to get murdered :P It was awesome!

Absolutely amazing stay! It was my first time doing HIPCAMP and I will do it again. The site was very well kept and secluded. I stayed by myself as a girl and felt very safe.

Sweet little spot! You really are surrounded by woods on three sides, and the hosts have cut some trails through the woods behind the site. The fourth side faces your access road; a dead-end with only a few houses. But the site is far enough from the road to get acceptable privacy. Great night sounds. Very hospitable folks too.

View from across the little pond.
