Stone Mill Camping
We have 6 RV sites and a large camping field, in a valley between 2 big ridges in the North Ga Mountains. We are far away from most everything. Cell Phone coverage is poor to none, no internet, we are 30 min to closest gas, restaurant and grocery store. We recommend stocking up before you arrive. We do have hiking trails, OHV trails, a stocked lake for fishing and swimmin

The place was an old zoo. You can see few of the cages that are still there.
We are NOT a campground, RV park, Wedding venue or OHV park. This is our home and we are happy to share it with you.
We are very dog friendly. We actually Foster dogs for the local shelter. This is a place you can let your friendly dogs off leash to run. Please pick up after your pets.
The 6 RV sites have water and 30 and 50 amp service.
For those Tenting, we have dispersed camping. You get to choose your spot on the 1st come 1st serve basis.
We have a Glamping dry cabin. Look for "The Outback at Stone Mill" if you are interested.
The main camping field, across from the RV sites is the closest to the bath house and common fire pit.
The more remote or seclude the further away from the bath house or you may only get a Porta Potty.
The "Over watch" is one of the more popular secluded sites. Look for signs just past the RV sites.
Creek side is near the" over watch" but has a nice creek view.
More remote is Apple Tree Lane. You will be secluded, have a potta potty but a long walk to the bath house.
You may camp by the lake, it is nice but you do share the lake with others camping. You only get a porta potty.

Jay put it well when he said that he is sharing his home with us. This property, the land, amenities, everything - it's his home and is kind enough to be sharing it. Stone Mill sits in a valley between the mountains of North Georgia. Ample camping space throughout for tents, cars, even RVs. The property itself is beautiful and used to be a private zoo back in the day. Dirt roads lead you through Stone Mill as you pass streams on both sides, even a stocked lake for fishing and swimming, kayaks and canoes for guests too. There's also a zip line! Restroom and facilities were great and very clean as well. My favorite part had to have been the OHV trails. I rode my dual sport motorcycle up so I would be able to get some trail riding in, and it did not disappoint. It was truly an overnight getaway in the mountains! Jay and Angie were very welcoming and made sure I had a pleasant stay.

We had an amazing time spending the weekend at Stone Mill. There is truly something magically about the location. It is rich in history and full of new adventures. The owners are fantastic; from Jay’s stories around the camp fire to the wonderful work both Jay and Angie do in animal rescue. They’re truly wonderful people that I feel blessed have meeting. I highly recommend the location for a weekend getaway. You truly feel refreshed and have a whole new outlook on life after. Thank you so much to Jay and Angie for opening up their home!
Jay was an amazing host and was so helpful! We had an awesome stay at Stone Mill and we will definitely visit again. And again, thank you so much for helping us to find our dog Jay!

Jay is an amazing host, his as friendly as his campsite.
This places TOPS my list of campsites in Atlanta GA. Jay did not hesitate showing us around his campsite and taking us on adventures trails. Definitely a child friendly place and the campsite are very clean too.

Stone Mill is a great place to take a family for laid back camping. Jay was incredibly accommodating and greeted us shortly after we arrived. The property is great; it's huge with excellent hiking trails in the hills, a small pond to fish/canoe on, and plenty of other areas to explore (the property was formally an old zoo). I would 100% recommend the place to anyone looking to get out of quarantine and just kick back for the weekend. For what it's worth, we also had our 4mo. old baby with us and felt very safe throughout the whole trip (property is gated in). We've already referred our friends and they're going to experience Stone Mill themselves this weekend!

Really amazing property and a great host! Lovely and secluded but also places to hike to and great spots around the property - lake, creek and mill.
Everything was set up well. Jay was very accommodating. Huge property with many options for tent camping. Definitely will be back. The kids had a great time.
We absolutely loved staying at Stonehill!!! So much history, so much to explore, Jay and his property care takers, Lane and Todd, made us feel so comfortable and at home. We brought our two girls (11 and 7) and they LOVED fishing at the stocked lake, hiking, playing in the creek... I feel like they will be talking about this for a long time! Such a hidden treasure! Thank you Jay and Angie for having us!!
