Perfect if you have a 4x4
The area is absolutely beautiful! However, it is a bit far from the restrooms. I was thinking 3/4 of a mile would be fine to walk. I was not prepared for the hills from San Francisco! 😳 once you make it to the top of the hill where you will be camping you were almost in voluntarily isolated there for fear of having to walk back up the hill from hell . Well you are warned not to try to get up there if you have 2 Wheel Dr. just be prepared there’s a little hike. The drive was overgrown and took the protective shield off the bottom of my car. I did find a little trick. If you drive really fast backwards you can make it all the way up the hill and a 2 Wheel Dr. car but you don’t want to drive back down.
This was an excellent stay. I admit I was skeptical at first but when we reached the top of the driveway I quickly fell in love with the privacy as well as the view. There was no debis and the site was clean. I would recommend having 4 wheel drive if you want to drive to the very top. Bathrooms were very well kept... even if we have to drive. Worth if you really need it! Could definitely see us staying here again!
Had a good trip. The site is a bit odd as it is in a largely undeveloped gated development. We arrived and the gate access code had changed, which Moshe was able to get us the updated one timely, but then the next day it had changed again. Also, didn’t appear to be a water pump that was on the site, not sure exactly where water is available that isn’t using some other land owners. The site itself was perfect, up on the hill with a flat landing that did get shade after about 6PM.
Private, safe, and good spot
Nice spot. Definitely not the best view (during the summer, trees blocking mountains) but very private, beautiful surrounding woods, and great/helpful host. Thanks Moshe!
This was perfect for what we needed. All the sites at the state park were booked and we needed a last minute camp site for 8 people 6 tents before starting our back packing the next day. I wouldn’t stay here a week but for a cheap overnight close to the state park.... perfect!
Quiet camping spot
Very quiet and beautiful property. Host is very responsive.
We enjoyed our stay, but probably would not take our RV up there again. The driveway gets very steep at the top. If you are not in low gear with a little speed, you will slide backwards. The driveway was also pretty over grown and rough. We definitely carried some branches up the hill with us. With that being said...... we did get up there and back down without any major problems. So it is doable in an RV.
The cleared area has a nice picnic table. There is a beautiful view of the stars with no ground light!
The day we stayed there it rained some. Since the camping area is just cleared land..... the good ol Georgia clay got pretty messy.
The gated community made us feel safe. The neighbors from up the street came to say hello when we first arrived. They seem to keep a close eye on things in the development.
