I've never met a sweeter couple than Mary and Ron. Upon my arrival (tent camping) they were welcoming and let me know about the rich Appalachian history of the land and their home. The beautiful stream you see is so pure you can drink straight from it! Kick up your feet under the cozy patio and enjoy the stove and plenty of seating with all your camping pals. Perfect for tents and RV's (hookups available with great parking). The surrounding scenery is quite the view, with 360 degree mountain views of billowing mists climbing over the mountains early in the morning will leave you calm and relaxed.
This was an amazing place! My wife and I had a great time along with our 2 dogs and a pop-up camper. We spent most of our trip on the property enjoying the views. The site is located in a valley completely surrounded by rolling mountains, and there’s a lovely creek that runs along the edge of the property. The creek provided the perfect location and background noise to spend a lazy afternoon, take a nap, and cook dinner. Plus our dogs loved sitting by the creek because they could watch the cows that were located on a property off in the distance (this kept them entertained for hours, we called it Cow TV for dogs).
Mary and Ron were fantastic hosts and the friendliest people you could hope to meet. The main house is away from the campsite so we had total privacy, but when we wanted to be social Mary and Ron were always willing to chat and even invited us to hang out with them by their fire pit in the evenings to watch the sunset. They can also give you plenty of information on things to do in the nearby area - hiking trails, casual walks, scenic drives, nearby restaurants, vineyards/wine tastings, and even a local distillery a short drive away.
We're looking forward to returning!
Mary and Ron were wonderful hosts. We felt completely at home on their property and they worked extra hard to make sure that we were comfortable. The stream running through the property is beautiful and the kids enjoyed hanging out at the creek house and running around the property.
Mary's spot is perfect for a simple campsite set up. The amenities on the creek are down in a tucked away area for the perfect s'mores or breakfast view. Mary was very accommodating and helpful, as well as their neighbors, Sherri and Alan. We felt both welcomed and respected to our own privacy.
