Just 2 miles from 1-20, Hazelbrand Zen Barn & Farm has easy access for traveling folks. Close to grocery stores, Film Georgia, Georgia International Horse Park, Hard Labor State Park, and the historic Covington Square. When you wish you could find a cool place to camp and State park campgrounds seem too civilized or too busy. You need Inexpensive, private, beautiful, easy, solitude. But with some comforts - like a really nice bathroom. And running water and an electric plug (no hookups for RVs). Hazelbrand Zen Barn & Farm is a good destination. We used to sleep around the campfire and our horses would lay down next to us! We also offer a studio apartment or the full barn ground floor and big kitchen (see our related sites or message us).
Hazelbrand is at the end of a windy road of horse farms and cottage farms. Once you leave the asphalt you are on a deserted forest island. Come through the cattle gate and lock it behind you. Drive down the lane, pastures on your right and left - with a little lake with big geese and turtles and keep driving under a green tunnel of cedars - then wind your way toward the red barn. You can set up camp anywhere, although the fire pit and bathroom/camp kitchen are in the lower pasture. Quiet beautiful and seemingly far far away (but not!).
Under the tin roof shed-awning of the barn is a good setup for camp cooking and a totally awesome bathroom (bring your own towels and toiletries). The camp kitchen has a work table and shelving- with electricity and a sink w cold water. We have a small BBQ grill (baby Weber) and a picnic table close by.
You can scavenge kindling and some firewood - but you will probably want to bring firewood just in case. Georgia Wildlife Center is just down the road on Cochran Road - with nice hiking trails. Bring your own poles and throw a line in the pond. We are in residence some of the time from our home in Arizona. if we are here we are happy to greet you and help you get situated.
Wifi is available near the barn. We will check photo ID when you arrive. We have a friendly extraverted hound dog who hates to be in the house when there are people or other dogs about, and a curious cat; be sure you are good with this before requesting a booking. If you need a checkout later than 11 a.m. please ask; we may be able to accommodate you.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Cynthia's property is serene, secluded, and peaceful without being too far away from the city and other near by amenities, like stores. It was a perfect get away after an already hectic week, and being only 45 minutes from Atlanta makes it accessible to the city folk for a quick get away! My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much and loved how much land there was to explore. We all wished it was warmer so we could jump off the diving board into the small lake right by our tents and the barn. In the morning, we walked around and found a near by stream that looked beautiful in the morning light. The bathroom off of the barn had it's own mini heater for the colder mornings and nights, and a wonderful shower/tub that we were all in love with. All in all, it was a great stay. Hazelbrand is a hidden gem with lots of property for large gatherings or small ones.
Don't miss out on this experience!
As soon as I closed the first gate behind me I knew I had chosen the right place for peace and relaxation! Hazelbrand Zen Barn & Farm is tucked away in a beautiful setting surrounded by lush pastures and green forests. The property is thoughtfully maintained so as to provide guests with a tidy environment and ease of movement around its peaceful surroundings. The lake was such a treat! I was so relaxed while fishing and enjoying the sights and sounds of all the little creatures that call it home. Cynthia could not have been a more friendly and welcoming host! Upon meeting her you felt an instant energy of "friend"...how rare!
Hazelbrand is a large and beautifully kept property well suited for family/group camping.
The property truly does feel private and secluded, though it's conveniently close to shops (Home Depot, Walmart, etc.) for possible necessities like meal ingredients, ice, fuel, toiletries, and so-on. Additionally, having access to electricity, running water, a fire-pit, separate cooking area, and especially the beautiful bathroom/tub/shower, makes it ideal for groups hoping to enjoy nature without 'roughing it'.
The quaint fishing pond on the property is small enough to fully access but big enough to enjoy. We managed to catch the attention of one rather large resident a few times but unfortunately, we didn't catch 'em. Definitely had fun trying though. Maybe next time!
Cynthia couldn't have been a more gracious host and our group of 6 made quick friends with her friendly and mild-mannered doggo, Max. I hope I have the pleasure of visiting them again soon.
If you are looking for a relaxing destination to camp with your friends and family, Hazelbrand is ideal.
Sweet sweet place
Thank you Ms. Cynthia!
Horse slept here was so fantastic. They accept only one group per time, so it is really enough place to chill out and be relax. Also they have a big firepit. And small stove? To make a fire, and really clean and warm restroom with a big tube to bath, and also has a soap too. I really enjoyed here, because it was my first time to camp alone with dog, and the place was all fenced so I can off leash her and give her freedom to roam around. But the most thing I love is the dog, "Max" in here. He is so calm, nice, gentle , and sweet. My dog is not good with other dogs. But Max, he understand my dog so they played all day and the next morning together. It was my first time that my dog look happy with other dog and tries to play with them first. And Max always be sides me ( I really feels like he is my dog, well much better than mine😂😂) makes me secure and safe. He's like my bodyguard lol
So I really recommend this place to everyone! I love here and will comeback again!
A convenient quick relaxing getaway
Enjoyed our campsite, very peaceful, very laid back host- she even tried to give us money back because i counted the kids and age thought it was 8 adults! The bathroom accomodations were very clean and beautiful. Nice kitchen prep area that was very convenient. The field area was perfect for the kids to run around and play ball. Would recommend to anyone!
We had a wonderful weekend camping at Cynthia's charming farm.
She met me as I drove in.
Showed me around .
Asked our group several times if we needed anything and was everything OK.
She took time to sit and talk to the kids about rocks they found.
Was such a delight to talk to.
We camped out in the field surrounded by wild flower.
Spent some time fishing at the lake.
Caught several fish.
Walked down to the river and explored in the surrounding woods.
Her dog Max is the sweetest most well mannered dogs I have ever seen.
It is a wonderful little place right out side of Atlanta.
Private and very safe.
We are already planning a trip back
Close to home!
My son had a great time there. Plenty of settings to set up camp. We choose a more shady, woodsy setting this time. I can't wait to go back and set up in the other ones. And we will be back.
