Back Achers Farm is a 4th generation family farm born of love for farming and a once in a lifetime love of two people named Bill and Isabelle Jones. "At 90, he wondered what he wanted his legacy to be...but wait!! Before we can talk about the legacy of a man, we need to look first at the heart of a farm boy.  It all began, when as a little boy, young Bill Jones would grab an apple and a cold biscuit to follow his Uncle Bill outside to work on the farm. Well...he used to FOLLOW his Uncle Bill who actually did the work. But into the heart of that little boy, the love of farming was planted. After he served in WWII, he came home a received his degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee. It was also during that time he fell in love with Isabelle. I once asked Ma Belle if she had wanted to marry a farmer, she smiled at me and said, "What I wanted was to marry Bill and Bill was a farmer." written by published author, Sarah Decosimo Jones the daughter in law and now steward with husband Steve, of Back Achers Farm. There are stories of Isabelle losing her sight here, Bill flying his first helicopter, children being born and moving to Lithuania, owning a Floral Design Studio, adopting children into this loving family, first tractor rides, stories of joy and sadness. Mostly, there is laughter... when we tell of how the lake arrived, where the cheese is placed on a burger or hearing how working cows ACTUALLY happens. We are a family of deep rooted love and whether you take a short farm tour or sit and listen to many stories...once you visit, you become family. And there is none other like the Jones. So come visit, watch the sun go to sleep over the mountain, hear a beaver slap it's tail in warning, hear the voice of a newborn calf, smell the sweet scent of a honey locust pod and let a piece of Back Achers live forever in your heart.

Volkswagen Graveyard
The place was very remote and peaceful. My only complaint is the camp dog who was so sweet and playful hung out with us the whole time and my dog was not happy.

Volkswagen Graveyard
It was a beautiful experience. Plenty of space as well as privacy. Friendly community because it was not the easiest to find but we figured it out. Beautiful pup and he loved my pups, so that added to a great experience. Thank you for hosting us!

Amazing
Very nice layout. Sort of hard to find, but if you call the owners they’re very nice and accommodative. Would definitely recommend!

Mossy Turtle Tent Site
Not for those without 4WD
Definitely blaze your own trail with this tent site! We wish we had more time and a high clearance vehicle to explore the farm - but it simply wasn't possible in our camper Prius. The tent site itself is well marked - though very wild and overgrown. We ended up making a quaint spot for ourselves, though due to how overgrown and muddy it was, it was pretty close to the road. The tent site itself is right off the intersection of the road and a moderately busy highway - so if you don't mind traffic passing by, then this may be for you. We met Bryan up by the stables, and he was incredibly sweet. He works for the farm, and is making a gorgeous little spot for himself by his van. He gave us directions to find the Volkswagen Graveyard, but unfortunately, it was too wild and required high clearance to reach. Be extremely careful, even on the gravel roads! The road is nice to walk on - the farm itself is very pretty. We never met Bethany, but Bryan was very nice. There are a couple parks nearby in Chickamauga if you're so inclined as well.

Volkswagen Graveyard
Beautiful private site
Lovely spot. There were various fire circles built around the property, and I didn't have to walk far to reach the first one. The old Volkswagens are a cute little feature; the property is large enough that it feels more private than other nearby campgrounds. The sunsets and sunrises are amazing!

Mossy Turtle Tent Site
Great price and great place to stay for a night on the road traveling. Bethany was incredibly kind and hospitable. The site is very primitive, just you, an open grassy field and a campfire ring. I was looking for a bit more privacy so this spot was perfect for that. Did have some night time wildlife visit (not sure what!) but that’s to be expected. Had a lovely stay and would suggest this spot to anyone who is happy roughing it in the woods.
