Great piece of land with many places to set up though all are basically primitive campsites. Nice ponds with good fishing. Frogs, toads, owls all very vocal all night. There is a rustic cabin with a small bathroom available (flush toilet) and cold running water. No electricity but he has a generator available. I did not use. Very near Suwannee River with outfitters available for kayak or canoe trips. I brought a kayak and did a four hour outing using their shuttle service. Fantastic trip!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Paul's beautiful property! Some of the highlights were traversing the many walking/golf cart trails over the 150+ acre piece of land, fishing in the paddle boat pond, and seeing deers, turtles and a lot of other wildlife.
As far as tent camping in live oak goes, this is the prime spot. Paul's lot is about a 3 minute drive from the magical Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Suwannee Springs, and the graffiti bridge. There are lots of great swimming holes within a 5 mile range also.
If you are planning on going to the music park, this is where you want to stay, as SOSMP is not renting out cabins or allowing tent camping at the time of me writing this. You can still rent golf carts, kayaks and canoes though.
We loved camping here. The fishing was great in the main pond. We bought worms from the store nearby & the fish loved them. The primitive campsite was private, had a nice fire pit, running water & a bathroom in the cabin. The stars were amazing too.
Paul told us about boat dock on the river that we checked out & went for a dip. It was about a 8 minute drive from the property.
Very easy access from I-10 & I-75 but very quite.
