OPPORTUNITIES IN & AROUND: Escape to sunny Florida's nature coast where the pines meet the sea!
You may want to spend your morning relaxing in the screen house or going for a nearby nature walk. By the afternoon you could have a picnic at the gazebo on Keaton beach or perhaps fish the Gulf of Mexico or collect fresh scallops for your dinner “al fresco”. By evening you could retire to your campfire and gaze at our star-filled sky.
If you’d rather buy your dinner, the laid-back town of Steinhatchee is just a bicycle ride away. There you will find friendly down-home cooking with lots of seafood on the menus. You will also find small mom and pop taverns, gas stations, banking, fishing/scalloping supply stores, marinas, groceries, and hardware
Depending on the time of year you could find live entertainment, kayak rentals, golf cart rentals, fishing contests and festivals to entertain you too. Our property is situated close enough to our golf cart-friendly town to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy what nature has to offer.
Steinhatchee is a fishing & hunting resort town. You will hear hunting dogs howling especially at feeding times. You will see local commercial fishermen, crabbers and shrimpers in town. We do not have an abundance of tourist-filled gift shops lining our streets like many coastal towns, although souvenirs and T-shirts are available at the marina.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON SITE: Campsites are situated more that 100 feet from each other so you will have privacy. You will be camping among pine trees, hardwoods and palms.
You will have use of a fire ring, a horseshoe pit, flamingo ring toss, screen house, smoker/barbecue, outdoor bathroom with hot running water, a full size fridge (which comes in handy if your tenting) and photo opportunities at our hummingbird/butterfly oasis. We do not have television or internet here.
Our property is currently 1 acre and we are expanding by another half acre. It is fenced and gated. The gate is locked at night and you will have a key which there is a refundable $20.00 deposit required.
Currently site 4 is available if you have your own RV. It does not have a deck or canopy. You will park on sand mixed with some grassy areas. It has water, 50 amp electric and sewer. It can accommodate a very large Camper, Toy Hauler, Motorhome or Totorhome.
If you do not have a camper, site 3 has a small camper for rent. It is primarily used for sleeping accommodations. We call it the "Casita" which is shown in the photos. People who use it cook outdoors and utilize the outdoor bathroom. It has a deck, a shade canopy, water, electric and a small fridge.
We have room for overnight parking without services, several tents, boat &/or motorcycle parking too.
We are not a commercial campground. We live on site in our campers with three chihuahuas, a canary, chickens, a roo and a parrot. We spend our days knitting, stringing beads, painting, and playing with rocks in the lapidary and other fun forms of art. We love having company, sharing the studio space and teaching. We especially welcome campers interested in lapidary arts but all are welcome.
You are welcome to participate in arts & crafts free of charge but you may choose to donate to the studio to help with maintenance costs. There is a materials charge for most classes. There is a fee for COURSES which are extensive one-on-one in-depth week long learning experiences. Advance booking is necessary for courses. Fees for COURSES are $20.00 an hour plus supplies. Courses are conducted by a professional Gemologist.

One of the best experiences I've ever had! The town is really nice, welcoming, and plenty of places to visit and eat at. Suz was an AMAZING host and provided me with absolutely everything I needed and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. A truly beautiful soul of a woman. The camper I stayed in couldn't have been more cozy. The bath house is so cute and believe me, you'll want to take seven showers a day just so you can take in the beauty and comfort of an outdoor bath house. Suz is a painter so everything is bright and colorful. Have yourself a fire, grill out, take a tricycle and ride out to town, or search for fossils in the driveway! A true beach getaway that I would LOVE to visit again and again!
Fun, relaxing, artistic, creative
Will be back in the future! Suz is an amazing host, she goes above and beyond to help her guests feel comfortable. I felt like I was home away from home when I stayed here. The cute lil camper has everything and it's so cozy makes me want to live in a trailer full time! Suz and her daughter restored the camper and it has the cutest Mexican, tropical vibes. I was soo amazed at Suz's crystal palace on wheels too! She has literally some of the most interesting crystals I've ever seen and tons of fossils and crystal necklaces she handmade. I made a necklace when I visited and Suz sat with me the whole time and helped me when I needed help with it. I loved staying here and I felt very at home in the cozy cute casita. We are going to make the trip here every year because my boyfriend and I liked it so much. This place is a gem with literally gems! We love you Suz!
