This is not a "land camp" but a sea camping opportunity! This is a simple, small sailboat located in what we call our "water campground" - 5 sailboats near each other. YOU MUST KAYAK BACK AND FORTH TO THIS SAILBOAT. In calm weather, it is a 5 to 7 minute paddle to and from the shore.
Unlimited Kayak Use is Included with your stay and there are some awesome places in the shallow channel to kayak to. You are not out in the huge, open ocean but are near the shore in a protected channel. NOT IN A MARINA.
WE ARE 4 MILES FROM THE MAIN TOURISM AREA AND DUVAL STREET
The boat has a porto potty, solar shower, cooler, and linens, pillows for a bed. There is NO ELECTRICITY OR RUNNING WATER, electricity but we do have flashlights, Solar power to charge phones, and battery operated lights, and fresh water jugs to refill the solar shower. This boat's name is the Mangrove Mango!
Sleep under the starts out on the water in the Florida Keys!
Our "boat camp" is located in a 3-foot channel in Key West with restaurants and bars nearby as well as mangrove mazes, rivers, and canals. Guests "rough it" out on the water and watch the sunrises, sunsets, the fish, birds, and even sharks and dolphins swim by!
For guests MUST be able operate a kayak (weight limit 250) and be limber enough to climb up onto a boat - keeping in mind some days are rainy and windy.
We also have a communal "barge boat" with a hammock, grill, and coffee maker as part of the "water campground."
You can check out more information and watch videos from guests, tours of the boats, photos, a bl0g, and more on B0atCamping d0t 0rg.

The vibe at Cozy "Sailboat Camping" w/Kayaks
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This was by far the most adventurous camping trip I ever experienced. When we got there, we were greeted by Zappa and the cutest pup Gatito. Zappa was awesome and took his time taking us through the in and outs of the site and meant it when he said we would get 5 star service. The boat was about a 5 minute kayak ride from the shore where we locked the kayaks up. Cozy is exactly how I would describe the quarters. Thankfully I was traveling with my boyfriend so that wasn't too bad. The view was AMAZING. The water offered a nice cool off after a hot June day in Florida. The fishing was GREAT! We caught quite a few grunts out there. My favorite part was the site was on the outskirts of town, more where the locals are in the Keys which is ideal. The boat had all the amenities we would need for a camping. Next time, I'll definitely just pack a bunch of bathing suits and opt out of clothes all together. Our waterproof case was an absolute life-saver (I tipped over, more than once) so shout out to Amber for having that reminder for the site. ALSO, bring water socks/shoes. It makes life a lot simpler. I'm still impressed my flip flops held up. But the water is very rock filled or all around muddy, which makes for good marine life, not so good for bare feet though.
All around, we'd definitely stay on one of these boats again.
