Life is good at Rooterville where over 300 rescued farm animals enjoy freedom like no where else. Wake up to roosters crowing, pigs snuffling around and cows mooing. AND, your money does good too! It helps keep these animals fed and safe. Our "people" barn offers a HUGE, beautiful, bug free view of the sanctuary grounds and all of the amazing animals who call it home, no tent required.

Your accommodations are as follows:  it is NOT a cabin but there was no other description that I could choose to match it.  You'll stay in our "People Barn" which is a large, screened in pavilion attached to our main barn.  So you won't have to worry about bugs!  It is gorgeous with cute lighting to make it beautiful and romantic at night.  You'll get a cot to sleep on,  clean linens and a pillow.  All very nice and new, expect first class.  We have extras available if you need them.  You will have a mat for your cot.

The People Barn overlooks the sanctuary and right now, it is surrounded by night blooming jasmine that smells amazing at night!  You'll have fans to stay cool.  There is NO A/C.  There is a fridge, coffee pot, microwave, grill out there for your use.  NO MEAT ON THE PROPERTY please!

When you're not sleeping, you are welcome to jump in with our animal care team and help out as much as you like or sit back and just take in all of the beauty of nature and peacefulness of the sanctuary.  There is no rush to get you out, stay as long as you like and be a part of the sanctuary life.  It is an amazing experience you will treasure for a lifetime.  LOTS of photo ops with our awesome animal ambassadors too!

An fantastic bike trail is nearby if you're up for a biking adventure and the many lakes in the area offer terrific kayaking/water opportunities.  Goldhead Branch State Park is nearby and Gainesville is not far away to eat and find other things to do as well.  Two of our favorite things to take in while you're here:  the Butterfly Rainforest and the Bats at Lake Alice.  If you want to venture to Gainesville, you have to experience those two things.  Lots of good food there too.

Come on out and experience Rooterville!

Rooterville should be on your bucket list. Interacting with rescued animals in an open environment and in a calm sanctuary setting is something everyone should take the time to experience. It’s easy to see the Rooterville staff cares deeply for the animals they rescue, and it shows in the friendly disposition of their residents. With over 300 rescued animals, it's almost overwhelming to see so many roaming freely. An overnight stay in the barn further immerses you in the sights and sounds not heard during the day. Waking up early to see the morning feeding was our favorite part! Elaine and her staff are wonderful hosts and make sure you have a great stay.

We had an amazing time. Elaine and the staff at Rooterville are very hospitable. The animals are incredibly friendly and the farm is beautiful. The amenities were perfect, we slept in the barn, after enjoying a night around the fire pit. This is a must do for kids of all ages.
