Rey Dag Farm is a beautiful place that is part farm and part park. It functions as our home, retreat center and stable for our horses. Camping area is next to a beautiful pond teeming with life. Conveniently near to all local attractions like Hillsborough River State Park, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, and just 45 min from Disney or beaches.

Camping at Rey Dag Farm
This was my first trip with HipCamp and the app actually allowed me to purchase before the host approved the request. I was nervous when Arthur reached out to me and denied but I let him know that I already paid and he still accommodated my stay. Arthur greeted my BF & small dog upon a delayed arrival time and gave us a quick overview of the property- he was super kind & laid back- then left us to ourselves. Once we started to settle in, got out of our car and roamed around his horses came right up to us! We couldn’t have asked for a sweeter welcome. The next day we hung out by the pond and enjoyed the quiet. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best to enjoy the Hillsborough River State Park nearby, but if we return to the area I’d definitely camp out again at Rey Dag Farm :)

Rey Dag Farm
Had a great time
My friends and I loved our stay here. We set up camp by the fire pit that was prepared for us then found a shaded spot to spend the afternoon by the pond. The beautiful and friendly animals roam freely through the property which truly made the experience. Having access to a fridge and indoor plumbing was a great feature for camping. The host was kind and willing to help with anything we needed. If you choose to stay at Rey Dag, bring plenty of carrots and apples for the goats and horses!

Rey Dag Farm
I do not recommend. The site does not appear as advertised. We left and had difficulty finding other accommodations in the area because everything was booked and almost had to sleep in the car when we found a hotel an hour away from where we needed to be around 9 PM.

Rey Dag Farm
We loved our stay at Rey Dag. Arthur and Trina were very friendly and made sure we were happy and comfortable. The site is on their farm and there are beautiful horses and goats that free wander on the property. They never bothered us one bit and were lovely to watch. The campsite area was free from any animal excrement (at least free enough to not bother us at all). Arthur had firewood for us and had a fire lit for us when we arrived because we were arriving after dark. The site is also on a pretty little pond and so at night we listened to the many frogs croaking at one another. You can hear the road off in the distance but it didn't bother us at all and the nature outweighed the traffic sounds. There were also some lovely sandhill cranes that we saw in the morning! There is a bathroom and shower available and they were perfectly adequate. It is camping level clean though, so don't expect anything super fancy. It will get you clean and that's all you need when camping! I highly recommend. It's a beautiful property and we really enjoyed our stay.

Hospital
This was pretty much as we had expected except we though the physical site itself, especially the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. There has been a recent hurricane and repairs need to be made to electric and plumbing. As there are several animals roaming the site, including four horses, three dogs, three cats and some chickens, there is a lot of natural fertilizer underfoot. Certainly not a place for a toddler. We also would have enjoyed a larger picnic table and a few more chairs. But the hosts were charming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The property is beautiful and natural and although a bit off the beaten path, it is not too far from the rest of the world.
