Hipcamp is hip!

Imagine yourself enjoying a sunset over our tranquil ponds, relaxing around the campfire or watching our beautiful horses grazing.

Our  unique property is a little bit farm and a little bit state park. We are conveniently located near some of the most beautiful hiking trails, rivers and attractions that Florida offers.

Think about this: you have your own private campsite adjacent to the most beautiful pond. You can fish, you can kayak, you can sit on the bank and write poetry. The property has such an allure you may even find it hard to leave.

We are located 10 minutes away from one of Florida state's most beautiful parks, Hillsborough River State Park. If you're going in the other direction, we are less than 1 hour from all the Orlando attractions. Walt Disney World, Epcot, the Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios are all within 1 hour drive. Locally, we are 20 minutes away from Busch Gardens (happens to be my favorite park) and Adventure Island.

If you're looking for more sun and fun, we are located about 45 minutes from beaches that have been ranked top in the world.

Our amenities include indoor bathroom access, picnic table, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave access. We have tackle if you wish to go fishing and kayaks if you just wish to hang out on our pond.

A note for you animal lovers: we have grazing horses, friendly and silly goats, free-ranging chickens, delightful little dogs and cats.

We look forward to being able to serve you in the future.

Always feel free to call.

This was pretty much as we had expected except we though the physical site itself, especially the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. There has been a recent hurricane and repairs need to be made to electric and plumbing. As there are several animals roaming the site, including four horses, three dogs, three cats and some chickens, there is a lot of natural fertilizer underfoot. Certainly not a place for a toddler. We also would have enjoyed a larger picnic table and a few more chairs. But the hosts were charming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The property is beautiful and natural and although a bit off the beaten path, it is not too far from the rest of the world.

We loved our stay at Rey Dag. Arthur and Trina were very friendly and made sure we were happy and comfortable. The site is on their farm and there are beautiful horses and goats that free wander on the property. They never bothered us one bit and were lovely to watch. The campsite area was free from any animal excrement (at least free enough to not bother us at all). Arthur had firewood for us and had a fire lit for us when we arrived because we were arriving after dark. The site is also on a pretty little pond and so at night we listened to the many frogs croaking at one another. You can hear the road off in the distance but it didn't bother us at all and the nature outweighed the traffic sounds. There were also some lovely sandhill cranes that we saw in the morning! There is a bathroom and shower available and they were perfectly adequate. It is camping level clean though, so don't expect anything super fancy. It will get you clean and that's all you need when camping!

I highly recommend. It's a beautiful property and we really enjoyed our stay.

I do not recommend. The site does not appear as advertised. We left and had difficulty finding other accommodations in the area because everything was booked and almost had to sleep in the car when we found a hotel an hour away from where we needed to be around 9 PM.

We are very sorry that was you experience and we apologize that we were not on property when you arrived to better help guide you. We are a small horse farm not a camp ground set on what we believe is some very beautiful property as seen from our pictures . Again sorry we did not live up to YOUR expectations .

My friends and I loved our stay here. We set up camp by the fire pit that was prepared for us then found a shaded spot to spend the afternoon by the pond. The beautiful and friendly animals roam freely through the property which truly made the experience. Having access to a fridge and indoor plumbing was a great feature for camping. The host was kind and willing to help with anything we needed. If you choose to stay at Rey Dag, bring plenty of carrots and apples for the goats and horses!
