The vibe at Moondance RV Lot on Cape San Blas!
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The RV / camping site at Lou’s campsite Moondance on the Gulf can’t be beat as far as location goes. Her site is a short walk to a beautiful beach and is priced comparably to some of the closest state parks. There are water, septic and electric hookups on site for you to use. Really, what else could you ask for?!
Lou herself is just as nice as they come. Her partner, too. They are super sweet and so ready and wiling to accommodate us. We could have spent the entire afternoon and evening enjoying their company. But after getting acclimated with their property, they pointed us towards the beach and we set off to explore a little bit of the best of what Cape San Blas (the Forgotten Coast) had to offer.
The RV site is level and well-kept. The yard, too. We found the place without any GPS hang-ups whatsoever and had no problem accessing the property in our low-clearance van. Please note that all photos of this listing are of Lou’s RV but campers will need to provide their own sleeping setup. We think it’s a wonderful place to pitch a tent or your own RV but it’s important to us that you realize that this listing does NOT come with the RV.
By all means book this spot. It’s a hidden gem with access to some gorgeous beach and a spot that we think will appeal to almost everyone.
Moondance was an amazing spot in Cape San Blas. It is a very short walk out to the beach and there is a restaurant 1 minute away. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. There is another camper site next to this and the campers there were really friendly and helped us get the camper in the right spot. It is a little tricky to back in the lot. It is really best for an RV or tiny camper. We had a big truck and 20’ camper and it was tricky getting it in. The water and sewage and electricity is all there and it is nice to have the trees to give you some shade. Lou was great at communicating with us and we would definitely come back.
Beautiful spot with everything you need while RVing. Our dogs loved the cool breeze from off the water and shade from the plentiful trees. Easy access to the wide beach. Gorgeous area!
This was a fabulous place in a very private area! It has everything you need, but off the beaten path! The hosts were wonderful and helpful! We loved it and hope to return! Great vacation! Thank you!
Great host! We had a wonderful time at Cape San Blast. There is a great little restaurant just up the path from the site. The campsite is only 200 steps to the wooden walkway to the beach. However, the walkway is 175 steps to the dunes and there are 150 more steps to get to the beach. A beach cart to carry items to the beach is helpful. All in all a great stay!
Wonderful location, very private! Amazing, easy to reach, owners! We had a small problem and they had it fixed ASAP! You cannot see the ocean from the site, it’s a nice short walk down the lane to the beach. Take a wagon! We loved it!!
If you want a little piece of heaven, this is the place to be. This was our first time camping at Moondance and we are in love! The lot is lovely and private with just a short walk to the beach. Lou was kind enough to share all the best spots in town for dining and shopping. I don’t think we have ever eaten so good! And with John’s great fishing advice, my husband had a great fishing day everyday catching sea trout, pompano, red drum, flounder, and even a small hammer head shark. You won’t find any nicer folks around than these two. They are amazing!
Port St Joe is so quaint and the locals are very friendly. It has a wonderful small town Mayberry feel; something very hard to find these days. When here you MUST get the donuts in Cape San Blas. The line is usually long and they go fast, so get there early; SO worth it! Some of our other favorites include Peppers (GREAT Mexican), Sunset Coastal Grill, Triple Tails, and DoDasddys (the grouper wrap is to die for and owner is hilarious...so much fun). Honestly, there are so many good places; you can’t go wrong.
Shopping was a lot of fun too! There are several Antique, Gift, Beach stores and boutiques. I loved them all. Make sure you check out Fuss boutique. They have a very nice selection of clothing and jewelry.
My only regret is that we will not be staying longer. It’s easy to imagine staying here forever!
We will definitely be back! ❤️
Moondance is awesome...the cape is awesome...Lou is awesome. We had planned to stay seven days but we were forced to evacuate due to hurricane Michael. Lou communicated the mandatory evacuation and check in on our progress getting out of the path of the storm. Lou went on to make sure we were refunded the rest of our stay since we had to leave...sadly. We hope the best for a Cape San Blas recovery as well as the surrounding area. Thanks to Lou for being such a great host. We will be thinking of the Cape.
