The vibe at Everglades Hide Away
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Literally felt like I was driving right into the everglades themselves. Alligators, air boats and more surrounds you as you enjoy this hide away. You can camp or rent a cabin that has A/C and can sleep plenty with the overhead loft. The cabins come with a fridge and microwave making the stay simple and easy.
I was fascinated at all the alligators and the various boats and other vehicles Mack's Fish Camp has to offer!
Marshall and Nicky were exceptional hosts. We couldn't have met friendlier folks!!
Our airboat ride was amazing through the Everglades. Dont Do The tours that have boats for 20 people. Marshall's boat is 2-4 people onky. Very personal and informative
Convenient everglades camping site
I enjoyed my overnight stay at Mack's Fish Camp.
Located right at the start of the Florida Everglades, it was a great place to rest my head. If you're into cycling or hiking there's a 6 mile path (3 miles there, 3 miles back).
They also rent canoes, have private everglades airboat tours, and have RV sites available.
Would stay again.
Third generation fishcamp
Safe environment and friendly people who have much to offer besides a campsite. Experience the Sea of Grass (Everglades) from the seat of an airboat ($) while learning history of the area from people who have called this place home for three generations
Friendly, fun everglades camping
This place is an ideal location 30-40 minutes from Shark Valley in the Everglades, and we enjoyed the friendly hosts and atmosphere. Marshall our host was super communicative, helping us find the fish camp and then our camp site over the phone, even though we only booked it 3 hours before arriving. When we got there he made sure we were comfortable, offering a cold beer and even setting up a camp site for us under a shelter in case it rained. Everyone there was friendly.
There were a few people fishing and arriving for air boat tours in the morning but the sound didn't wake us up where we were, a little removed from the main airboating area.
If I am ever in the area again, I would stay here a second time without a doubt.
A great night in the glades!
We had an excellent time. We were tent camping in the pickup bed. The site was great which gave us use of the pavilion. Marshall and the entire family was very hospitable and friendly. We didn’t airboat or do much but just sit, read, and fish but that’s what we wanted, a city getaway. We booked two nights but only stayed one because we wanted to see two sunsets. That was our plan. Well worth it. Recommend: bring lots of water, bug spray, and your vices like wine. The store is very interesting and full of history but bring what you need. We had a great experience. Thank you!
