The 5 acre property was once raw over grown land in which consisted of over vined trees and tall brush.... Today the property is clean, manicured and loved by all that stay Features a 1200 Square foot TIki Hut built by the Florida Indians. Large Oaks, Lined with 950 feet of waterfront a Spring Fed Swimming Pool  and Guest Deck that surrounds the pool. Large Fire pit with plenty of wood. Sunsets and the moon rising can be seen from the grounds.... Lake Manatee leads to the Dam after the Dam it turns into the Manatee River in which supplies Manatee County with Drinking Water....

Fun Getaway, Very Friendly Host!
We were the first campers at this camp ground and we loved the place as soon as we arrived! The entire property is very peaceful with big trees, a lake and a great fire pit. We arrived after dark, our host Kristen was graciously waiting for us to help us settle, she immediately made us feel welcomed. She showed us where to get the electricity if we needed, the kitchen area, water/sink to wash our hands/dishes, the toilet, and the firewood. She is very responsive, sweet, and accommodating; it is as if she built this place for friends and family. One night, it got very chilly, she brought us many blankets and made sure we didn't get cold. The lake is really beautiful with plenty of colorful fish. We fished and had a wonderful time just sitting around the fire pit, talking, laughing, and watching the lake. Our camp ground was very comfortable with lots of space to hang out. We put our 4 tents next to each other with no problem. There is a big fire pit with chairs around it and we cooked all our meals on it. There is also a coal grill if needed. Everything we needed was there, water, table with extra chairs, and lots of excellent firewood. There is a delightful cottage on the grounds with a swimming pool. We didn’t see the people staying there, they were out most of the time. Even if they were there, our camp site was well separated and far away from the cottage. Kristen is taking care of rescue animals, 2 sweet horses and a very cute calf. We fed the horses, they are very friendly and our dog loved them as well. Kristen pointed us to wonderful restaurants and activities near by. There is a family owned Myakka City Grill and Silver Star Diner close by. They both had delicious food and extremely friendly people. There is also a fun zipline place very close by (mentioned on her site). We had a blast there! Lake Manatee, Little Manatee River State Parks and Sarasota is very close. We visited the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium and afterwards watched the sunset on the white sandy beach. We very highly recommend this place, it is a gem, and we can’t wait to go back!
