The vibe at Oak Hammock / Flower Garden
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Oak Hammock/Flower Garden is located about 30 minutes from the coast in the tiny town of Christmas and is a great place for anyone passing through or looking for a safe and quiet place to pitch a tent or park their RV. The host, Jean, is super sweet and easy to talk to. We felt comfortable with her instantly.
As far as her property goes, the land is flat and level, easy to find (the GPS worked without a hitch) and has several spots that offer shade and several in direct sun. We parked our van in a shady spot and could have spent the whole rest of the evening just relaxing and hanging out. If you have a larger vehicle or RV, this might be the prefect spot for you as Oak Hammock/Flower Garden has electric and a lot of space to turn around.
In addition, guests are welcome to use her inside bathroom and she’s in the process of creating an outdoor shower which seems like it will be ready to go in no time.
If you like animals, there are a couple of really cute free range chickens on the property and a cat named Gabi that likes to ‘talk.’
Last but not least, East Orange District Park is literally just down the street from her property and looks like a nice place to spend an afternoon throwing or kicking a ball or just relaxing.
