About Creek View Platform

Situated on a creek-side bluff surrounded by pine and cypress trees you'll find the Creek View Platform campsite. A 16'x12' deck with a fire ring, bench, and staircase leading to your private sandbar on Coldwater Creek. It's a short drive down a primitive road that follows the creek's edge. A great place for a small group and getting a flat surface to pitch a tent.

This was a beautiful location. The drive in can be muddy and uneven here and there so make sure you don't bring a vehicle that sits low to the ground. The creek is crystal clear and about waist deep at this site, but the current is a little strong. We kept an eye on our dog to make sure he didn't go out too far and get swept up in it. If you have younger kids consider a life vest depending their age and swimming experience. The sandbar at this site is small, about enough room to fit 4 folding chairs comfortably. It stays shaded a majority of the day, which would come in extremely handy in the summer. The site is a short walk from the north sandbar which is their largest so you can get plenty of sun there if you'd like. This whole area has been left completely natural (aside from the roads and trails which are nicely maintained) and its extremely peaceful. We didn't see much wildlife but we saw and heard plenty of signs of it. We did see a small rat snake sunning itself next to a walking path but that was it aside from birds and squirrels. During the summer I would keep a close eye out for snakes along paths as you walk. Overall this is exactly what we were looking for in a campsite because it was more secluded than a campground where you're 25 feet from the next camper. We'll definitely be going again. The staff is extremely friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

Great site for camping with an amazing view. Since the weather was nice, we were able to drive up to the platform and setup camp. Small staircase leads down to a private smooth rock sandbar. Campsite has a fire pit and grill, and two tall chairs on the deck to enjoy your view.
Produce and eggs from their facility are available for purchase at the main office. Check out Coldwater Gardens website for additional information.
