Mantells Native Mesquite Camp in Texas

Host K Downs says:

112 acres in the center of Montague County, Texas. Owned by retired professional wrestler Johnny Mantell. Where he and his dad once stood thoroughbred racehorse stallions, bred mares and trained foals for Texas/Oklahoma racing.

The thoroughbred ranch was destroyed in the North Texas wildfires in April of 2009, where 11 horses, including #10 TB Stallion in Texas, barns, tractors and other equipment was all lost. With the horse market at an all time low, the ranch turned away from the Thoroughbred race industry and turned to working the land. Fences were changed from barbless to barbed to handle cattle. RVs were acquired for friends and family to come for extended stays. We then started hosting weekend camp parties for friends.

We have RV hook up & clean out area. A large pond in front stocked with fish. There are deer, turkey, geese and other wild animals that frequent the property daily.
