Maryland Farms, c.1904 in Texas

Host Kim Stark says:

Maryland Farms was a working farmfor over a century.  The barn andsurrounding land have hosted countless livestock and various supporting cropsover the decades including our own Longhorn that used this barn asshelter and lodging as recently as 2010.  The decision to transform the barn into a farmhouse occurred quite byhappenstance, in 2013.  The planning, designing, engineering, construction, crying, sweating, cursing, loving, laughing, and finally celebrating, was completed Thanksgiving Day 2016.  This place has captured our hearts; it holds traces of scampering cats, crafty mice, chomping horses, milk cows, chickens running amok, lazy dogs and generations ofbarn swallows. This barn was a tool of necessity, definitely for the animals ithoused but more so for the farming family whose very livelihood depended onthem.  This barn is a piece of history and part of ourrich Texas heritage.   It is our pleasureto welcome you.
