River Trail Hollow

We loved tent camping at Steve's campground. The grounds were super clean, and the sound of the creek at bedtime was perfection! The bathrooms were spotless and the shower was exactly what we needed after a 43 mile bike ride up the Greenbriar River Trail.

Easy access to local parks!

This is a lovely little secluded campground right off of the Greenbrier River, with a really nice swimming area directly across from the campground, and a direct connection to the Greenbrier Trail, which is a flat 78-mile rail-trail with ample bridges along the route. Just a short drive down the road, Jack Horner's convenience store has hot food, souvenirs, toys, and a decent grocery section, plus free wifi and outside seating! The night that we stayed, there was nobody else there, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Our one gripe was that the showers weren't warm when we were there (mid-August), but other than that we had a great stay! We recommend eating at the Hillsboro Public House! The food at this restaurant/bar/coffee shop is all locally sourced and the menu had some creative higher-end options, while still being recognizable pub fare.

Peaceful tranquility

This was our second time to this campground and first time on site #7. We were the only campers this time and it was wonderful. This time there was a nice bathroom with a sink and flush toilet. Our friends and us are planning a trip back in a couple of months :)

#4 RV/Tent Creek-Side

What an amazing property Steve is sharing with us. While, this is my first HipCamp, my g/f says this is the best HipCamp she has ever been to. Spacious sites, green and the creek flowing. We were so impressed by our schedule one night there, we came back about 4 days later for another night. I highly recommend River Trail Hollow HipCamp.

Our group was 22 youth and adults, part of a scout unit and we stayed for 3 nights. Everyone was happy with the sites and quiet of the camp. Adjacent to the Greenbrier trail and river. Steve met us upon arrival and gave us a tour. Would definitely stay again

Excellent location. Great campground with nice bathrooms and outdoor showers. Dish washing station and available firewood was convenient. The first bundle being free was nice. It was very peaceful and felt secluded while actually being close to the things you want and need. We loved it.

Beat the Heat — Cool Campground!

#10 is a great site for a camper! Level and easy to back in. We loved how spaced out the different sites are. Bathrooms, dish washing, and showers are all nearby but not too close. Route into the campground is tight but is not too bad if you are comfortable pulling your trailer. Near 100F in Central Virginia, maybe mid 80s here. Proximity to the Greenbrier River and the Greenbrier River Trail can’t be beat!

We really enjoyed our camping site. It was private but not too far at all off the beaten path. The creek location with the trees & shade was wonderful for hot Summer weather. Also not far from the river or the Jack Horners corner store. About the perfect campgrounds & site.

#4 RV/Tent Creek-Side

We tent camped at site #4 for the weekend and loved it. It was more private than most campsites. The view and sound of the creek behind our tent was one of my favorite parts. There is a 4-5ft drop off behind site #4 so unfortunately you can't just go strait to it from your site but its only a min walk to a path to the creek. The showers and bathrooms were sparkling clean and there was plenty of firewood for sale. We hope to visit again in August.

Best 4th of July Weekend EVER!

This place is a hidden gem, between a creek and the banks of the Greenbrier river. Definitely follow the owner's directions because GPS was trying to take us a different way! The facilities are very nice (bathroom, shower, wash area). The campground is conveniently located off the Greenbrier River trail and a short walk ( less than a mile to Jack Horners store (where they sell everything). The owner was polite and responsive to my questions. The dark skies and fireflies were our favorite! Such a beautiful place, will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay here. Steve’s land is very well cared for with clean bathrooms and showers. The land is beautiful and the campsites feel well spaced and private. It’s within walking distance to a Greenbrier River access point. The whole area is beautiful, highly recommend

What an awesome place. I stayed at site 2. Loved the sound of the stream while relaxing. Took a short walk on the trail with the doggo. Then played in the river for a bit across the street. Would absolutely stay here again. I was the only one camping. Even if others were there, there is plenty of space between sites. I’m looking for a reason to visit the area again and stay. A+++

Bathrooms are almost Bucee's level of clean - unprecedented for a campground. Outdoor showers are not bad, plenty of hot water on demand. Friendly host checked in on us often but otherwise let us enjoy our privacy. The location is great - on the river/trail + short hike/ride to the nearby corner store for wifi and sundries. We'd stay here again.

Our favorite spot to camp when riding the Greenbrier River Trail. The campground is very well maintained, and they recently installed bathrooms, which were very clean when we were there. We'll be back, no doubt 👍🏻👍🏻

The campsite was perfect - we strung two hammocks and also had room for a tent. Nice picnic table and fire ring. Bathhouse was immaculate and the warm showers were a treat.
