The land is beautiful and wide open and no one was there. You can hear some noise from I-80, but not much. There are cacti everywhere so watch out for that if you have a dog that is not wise to the ways of cacti.
It would be easy to miss the path if it were dark and the directions could be improved, but I did find it so I guess they worked.
Terrible directioms, but nice stop
This is a field of nothing (and cacti, watch your step!), beautiful though.
The directions to get there are just terrible and you do need a higher clearance vehicle if you want to go further from the main dirt road. (suv will do)
A bit pricy for what it is though, as there is absolutely nothing

This place was awesome! Super remote but also very close to highway. Was great to spend a night on my road trip. The stars were amazing!!!

Pretty, starry open space to camp.
A great place to camp out under beautiful stargazing! Peaceful, wide open and gentle breezes and I was treated to a gorgeous sunset and pretty sunrise. Note, you will hear the road become louder around 11pm or so, but then dies down again.
Many reviews were correct regarding directions and I also found some changes from website directions. Here are the exact ones I would give:
When you get off the exit, go under the overpass, heading north. Turn right/East onto the gravel road and when it curves to the left, heading north From There go Exactly 1 mile. You will be a the top of a hill and look closely for two dirt tracks. Take the one on the left. There are no posts marking this (perhaps got taken out?). You will have passed a few scattered Blue ones with Red tops, but no green ones and they are not clustered together. The whole drive from bottom of exit ramp is 1.3 miles. :)
This was a great spot for people who like having the expansive sky above them and rolling land all around with only ground squirrels, pronghorns, and hawks as company.
As for the directions: they are adequate for the most part except for one thing: the three green/red sticks marking the turn off are actually one free/red stick because the other two are holding the first up. Absolutely do not arrive at night, as Don will tell you in his instructions. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful high desert location
Lovely, quiet site, but get there before nightfall. The host was right. It would be very hard to find at night. Feels very secluded but only minutes from the Interstate.
So yes, this place is hard to find, but it’s worth it. The very kind host, Don, patiently talked me through the directions on the phone when I was confused. Once you reach it, the site is absolutely spectacular. It feels like you’re in the wilderness but you’re really only a few minutes from I-80. I made it in time for an amazing sunset and everything smells like sage. My dog could be off leash safely and was thrilled Highly recommend.
