We did not actually stay here but Christy was amazing. Her communication was on point and her flexibility and understanding are unusual. We appreciated her willingness to work with us and accommodate our changes. In the end we had to cut our trip short and cancel our stay. She could not have been more gracious. I recommend her as a host highly.
Cute and convenient but rude owners
We just needed a safe place to pull over and sleep for the night so we booked with hipcamp at KC RV Park for $20. A week before we arrived i emailed the owner and asked if there was a place to plug in an extension cord. She replied Yes no problems! When we arrived the owners were unavailable so we called the number on the office door.
We we're told to pick any open spot and they'd see us later.
When the owner arrived we had a nice chat until he asked for $44. We paid $20 in advance and told him so. He didn't seem pleased.
The owner said the $20 price must be for "dry camping". There's no mention of dry camping on the hipcamp or owner's website, we booked the only available option. I asked in advance about the extinction cord. The owner accused me of trying to get away with something and if I plugged in or hooked up to anything we'd be charged. We didn't require or need the extension cord, i just asked if it was available.
The owner was rude.
It rained all day and night so the place was a muddy mess, the sites don't have much of a base and water puddled underneath and around our vehicle.
It was a cute unique place to stay at a reasonable price but we won't recommend or be back.
Wow! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your camp site! You were so easy to work with and made the whole experience so easy. You’re so welcome and motherly feeling we felt so safe and content as soon as we met you. We really appreciated the fact that you took us down to the site with showers, and we loved that there was so much freedom as to where we could put up our tent. We had such a fun night and it was just what we needed after over 13 hours in the car! Also, we can’t thank you enough for the route you suggested to Yellowstone, we were in awe the whole drive! Thank you for the hospitality and we hope to be back again one day :)
Very nice place to stay. I was impressed with the full hookups and very level sites. Nice property too. If you are in the area, this is the place to stay. We will be back anytime we are exploring the area. Thank you so much for being there! We were on a long trip and needed a safe place to overnight. I was sorry it was only one night. We would have loved to spend more time there.
Christy was a terrific host— warm and welcoming. She gave us a choice of where we wanted to pitch our tent- we opted for the RV site. The stars were incredible! And she’s got a lovely little farm with Buck the horse and some very cute sheep & cats that our daughter made friends with.
This place was truly a steal. The price, amenities, and cleanliness was among the best we've seen. Our dogs give it a thumbs up too!

This was a exactly what we needed on our journey west. Safe, clean, full hookup for a great price. It was over 90 outside and we wilt in that heat. Thank heavens for A/C! But without power, it’s no bueno. Did I mention the great value this is? Most Hipcamps don’t offer septic hookup, which costS you an additional $10-$40 and the additional time to find one and dump.
If you need a safe harbor to pull into, drop anchor and then pull up anchor and get going again, this is ideal.
Definitely recommend KC RV Park 100%! Great price, full hookups, and close to outlaw cave. We stayed 2 nights so we could go to The Hole in the Wall and Outlaw Cave. It was super worth it! Also recommend the local watering hole in town (Invasion Bar). We will stay here again. The Donkey was our favorite.
