I'd love to visit again!
I think our favorite part of staying here was breakfast with Rod (and occasionally some other campers). A solid start for the day! Second to that would be the sunrise views, feels like you can see for miles. The kitchen is well furnished and I really enjoyed getting to use the big tub! The cabin is sorta close to another dwelling, this wasn't a problem for us, just something to keep in mind since most pictures down show it. This was a memorable stay for us. :)
It was a peaceful stay at the Japanese Cabin. We had a great view of the surrounding communities fireworks from the front porch. I was thankful for the soak tub after tent camping for several days. My only complaint was some of the mugs looked like they hadn’t been washed before put back on the shelf and the tub didn’t look cleaned. It all worked out - I found cleaning supplies and used the styrofoam cups that were provided. It has a fully functional kitchen which meant we could cook our supper and enjoy the peaceful evening. We saw a deer and a rabbit as we enjoyed gorgeous view.
Beautiful, unique experience
Tranquil and grounding space. Appreciated the sauna, bathtub, W/D, patio, ample space, and views. Hosts were accomodating about a mix-up over timing. Be sure to hike Heart Mtn (but bring bear spray!) Note that the wifi can be spotty in the cabin.
So relaxing! The house is perfect for a romantic getaway. Close to downtown Cody for some food and tours.
We did a rafting tour and Yellowstone tour!
This house offers the best views for sunrise and sunset, adorable cows and pigs at the front of the property and a really cool campground with tipees right next to it as well. Very clean house and Rod is very responsive.
Absolutely recommending this to everyone.
Peaceful and comfortable
We had the most relaxing stay! The cabin is filled with spa like amenities paired with the most peaceful landscape and amazing views. Rod is an informative and welcoming host who gave us inspiring ideas for exploring the local area.
Soak in the view
We came for the tub and it didn't disappoint. It fills quickly with wonderfully hot water and fits two perfectly. You can look out the unique round window and relax in the solitude of empty high desert.
If you're road tripping with your Tesla or other EV, you can charge either with the 120v outlet at the cabin's driveway, or Rod has some 240v outlets nearby. It's all powered by the sun thanks to Rod's huge arrays of solar panels.
Great cabin, great host!
Great place, the house it self has everything you would ever want. The bathtub is amazing, the lack of TV is even better, the view is awesome. Great place. And the host was very gracious and kind.
It would be good if the doors locked, and there is a big house behind the cabin, so you aren't really isolated. But the cabin is looking the other way, towards the wilderness, so if you don't know the house is there, you wouldn't see it.
